David Digi It isn't supposed to revolutionize anything. It's more like a love letter to simpler times, where your only objective in a shooter game was to shoot. Doom has delivered what it promised. And there's a big enough fanbase to appreciate them for not changing the formula.

I understand where you're coming from, but don't you think it's a bit hypocritical rating games like call of duty ghosts, advanced warfare and bf 4 high even though they haven't changed much compared to their previous titles? And then rating DOOM low because it hasn't changed anything? Even though it was clearly meant to mimic the original doom while keeping some modern elements. (Btw, it's not an opinion, it's a fact) And my opinion is as valid as theirs. I'm allowed to say why I think they were wrong rating the game.

If this game just had amazing boss battles it would b an easy 10/10 for an action game for me. The locales were freaking sick it just needed more memorable and dynamic boss battles. Ending was simply 2 superuberduber soldats.(which would be a perfect precursor to the actual main boss) Always thought a giant flying mech that would land occasionally on the ausmezer would have been PERFECT as a closing battle.

Fun fact - this game was originally going to be called "John Leslie's International Shoe Sports", the name was changed when a number of the games developers were quick to point out several facts. Firstly Wolfenstein is not a sports game. Secondly the name "Shoe Sports" doesn't make sense - it is not a recognized sport - there is no sport purely focused around shoes - it is a silly name that doesn't make any sense. Thirdly John Leslie doesn't exist - he is not a factual person. After taking those points into consideration the lead developers changed the name and eventually settled with "Wolfenstein" as being the title.

Went to Gamestop because I was bored wanted to get a game that would atleast keep me somewhat entertained. I read about wolfenstein and it's long pedigree so decided to pick up the first one. Man was I in for a treat ! I was completely mesmerized I cant believe I slept on this game. The amount of detail and character dialogue it's like watching a movie. The writing to this game is top notch. Some of the best I've seen in an FPS in a very long time. Gameplay is pretty fun, nothing too new but entertaining enough. It's also a very pretty game to look at and I highly recommend this game.

The game does have flaws. One of my personal gripes is that the game is too brutal on Medium difficulty. I played on Medium since I didn't want to be humiliated for playing on Easy. Medium's meant to be slightly harder than Easy, not so very close to Hard, especially with the amount of difficulty settings this game has.
