King Horik should've been the one to recieve the blood eagle, not Jarl Borg, Horiks terrible indecision is what led to the betrayal of Jarl Borg, and vice versa.
@Catarssis3475 жыл бұрын
At least Borg died like a true viking deserving valhalla, Horik was humilliated and beated to death like an animal.
@Kreptic4 жыл бұрын
Jarl Borg received the chance to enter Valhalla, if he doesn't scream he would enter its gates, and when ragnar finished, Borg saw an eagle watching him, which is a good sign from the gods, Horik died a dishonorable death, Ragnar headbutt him, slashed him and hit his corpse with a chair multiple times, nobody even wanted to watch him dying so he was forgotten, while Borg got a chance to enter Valhalla.
@pipbull7544 жыл бұрын
Yes Borg was played by the king. Ragnar wanted him to come to the west
@Barllock14 жыл бұрын
I didnt quite get the whole plot....Horik betrays Borg by not wanting him on the journey, Borg then betrays Ragnar even tho Ragnar had no beef with him only to get sentenced by worse punishment + Horik "trying" to help Borg before he is executed (+ leaving Horiks son alive but killing the rest of his family epsecially daughter?) Jarl Borg was deserving of Valhöl. He took his sacrifice well. King Ælla on the other hand, did not know the rules of the rules of the blóðugr örn ( Blood Eagle ) which dictates, if you scream, or cry out, Valhöl will be denied to you. Composure is something not very many Christians would have been thinking about at the time of a death such as this. Especially a Saxon King.
Powerful, aye, but nae insane. 'tis the WORLD which has gone mad, and this sombre tune merely expresses that madness, in a way all too easy to internalise.

But anyway My family has been on the same big farm at least since the middle of the 13th century eich means since the farm is the biggest in the earea my family most likeløy6 has been here for several hundreds of years before that. We have found swords in the ground and other things like axes and knives and horse shoes and different equipment.
