@josephahner30313 жыл бұрын
@@Machiroable I think you need to reread what I said but I'll elaborate. I'm not saying Angron wouldn't fight like the devil possessed, I'm saying he's got next to no finesse and finesse is what wins a fight in the end. Even the best of the Primarchs will still have their work cut out for them for sure but Angron is basically a berserker. Which is actually a severe handicap in a fight rather than an asset if you don't have a decisive advantage in reach, durability, speed, and power. If Angron does have these advantages it takes a whole brotherhood of Grey Knights to put him down and most of them die as we saw on Armageddon. However to a fellow Primarch who can keep up with him his advantage narrows considerably. He'll tear through armies better than any other Primarch, traitor or loyalist for sure but that's not going to help him against someone who fights strategically and can match his speed like the Lion, Guilliman or Dorn. Vulkan and Russ might struggle more or even lose outright if they lose their tempers but as long as they keep their heads they have a good chance of winning. No guarantees, if they can't land a critical enough blow to banish or kill him it doesn't matter. Angron does not tire and will eventually grind the unfortunate sod down no matter how good he may fight if they can't land that decisive hit.

I would argue that most of the listed primarchs could beat Angron. He's actually a lot less than he ever was as a human primarch now that he is essentially a blood thirster. The sad thing about him is that while in a rage he is more akin to a force of nature with regards to the destruction he can deliver, he isn't a calculating threat like the other Daemon Primarchs. It's not like you have to contend with him acting as a battle field general like he used to. That being said, if you needed to pick a Primarch to take him one 1v 1. There is no question in my mind that the first choice is Russ and close second probably Vulkan. Russ has a unique function amongst his brothers that seems to provide him with a means to match the opponents he ultimately has to contend with. Russ also, other than, Sanguinius, and Angron is the only Primarch who was built to harness rage and use it as a weapon, and The wolves, by way of Russ, are uniquely insulated to the results that mass slaughter wrecks on the human psyche. The Blood Angels might be uniquely situated in that they are more deadly per capita, but the issue is that when the rage is unleashed it is nearly impossible to maintain control, as opposed to the Wolves who seem to have an iron grip on there viciousness. Russ, other than Horus and Magnus, has never gone 1v1 in full abandon, that has been recorded (See lost primarchs) So the "losses" the he sustained to Angron and the Lion don't actually count. Vulkan's strength and regenerative qualities are huge when it comes to his overall staying power, but similar to Russ, I don't think we have ever truly gotten to see Vulkan go all out. I'm waiting to see some epic writing about him defending the Emperor in the Siege, but from the descriptions given, if Vulkan truly wanted to throw the hammer down (pun intended) he'd be on a different level of behemoth to contend with. Also Vulkan's weapons all have special qualities that no other primarch could match. Much like Russ's spear, Vulkan is capable of forging artifacts that are on par with those of the Emperor, as such I think it gives him a massive boost to his ability in this situation.

I do disagree about your evaluation on Dorn and especially his fight with Fulgrim. Dorn’s calm and focus are good attributes for fighting single minded rage. Just like his calculating side let him out play Alpharius and his focused approach allowed him to carve Fulgrim up. His fight with Fulgrim clearly showed both Primarchs giving it their all and Dorn still tore him apart but most importantly even though Fulgrim ran off part of that reason he made very clear that Dorn had caused him a tremendous amount of pain and was unwilling to suffer anymore, so for someone like Fulgrim (especially being a daemon prince now) to admit that is quite a big thing so his loss to Dorn very much counts. Also Dorn didn’t need to almost die to soundly beat Fulgrim

In terms of winning a straight up fight, I agree with your ordering here. But in terms of just speaking generally which Primarch could be charged to go out and end the Angron threat, I'm leaning more to the Wolf or the Lion to achieve that goal. I might edge it to the Lion, just on account of his greater understanding of the weaknesses of warp-kind, and his batman-like approach of having plans within plans that work out in his favour - which all matches well with Angron's fatal flaw of behaving more like a beast than a strategist in his current state.
