another way to calculate the speed of the ship, divide the length of the ship by the time and divide by 0.51. 124/50,6/0,51 =4,80

Ahoy Subsim! Thank you for the video. Much appreciated. I have only one question: Why 1.94 and why not 1.852 for speed calculation. Is this because of the game or am I missing something. I use 1.852 in SH 3-5. Thanks in advance!

The conversion factor is 3600s/1852m=1.944 You have to convert from seconds to hours, AND from meters to nautical miles. 1.944 should have been used in any game that measures length in meters and speed in knots. It just happens to be close to what you thought was correct. In a pinch, doubling/'times 2' also works for reasonably close shots.

Yes, that's my understanding, 1.94 is the conversion from meters to knots.

@@onursoyturk7548 As for better, it depends on your view. It's still in early access and is being developed. Updates happen at a steady pace, there's a good planned out roadmap for what they'll be making. As for realism, far, far, far more so. Everything on the boat is done manually unless bots are enabled, in which case they do the task after you issue the order, like in SH5. You have to learn how to operate the boat, not just how to command it.
