If you see a fire icon on a ship in your left panel its means there is a fire not being attended to by a DC party. Always make sure your DC parties are fighting fires and not worrying about fixing 'yellow' damaged areas. Getting on top of fires early can be the difference between loosing a ship and getting away with minor damage. Also if your target solution is greater than 80% try switching to narrow spread.

I enjoyed your Guaduacanal series and this one as well. if you don't mind a bit of advice. I noticed sometimes you will select altitude bombing or some angle of attack in order to save planes. General Curtis LeMay who happened to control the US Army Air Force in the pacific, always had his planner select the best routes in terms on bombs on targets rather than avoid flak or fighters. It was his thoughts it's better to lose a few more aircraft destroying the target on a single run than losing fewer aircraft destroying a target on multiple runs. Over time, his strategy led to more targets destroyed.

With more battles like that you will own the seas around Java and begin to be able to think about retaking some territory. That was a pretty good fight against those destroyers and the timing on the aircraft strikes was great. Those torpedoes are very worrying. Having Houston back in theater will be awesome, should be able to take some of the work off your destroyers hands.

She was a light (cheaply & quickly built) "second line" WW1 DD; HMAS Vendetta was from the "first line" version... Both show their age compared to the interwar Encounter & more modern Jupiter

Love this series and the video. Also Jupiter's paint scheme is pretty. Love that shade of blue and the incusion of the more minor nations of ww2. I don't remember what exactly but i think the IRL Perth went down in a legendary blaze of glory.

I've noticed that you have gotten a lot better about managing the repair crews. Excellent work. I really think that is the difference between repairable damage that allows you to keep it in theater (like you had this episode) vs having to send that ship back to port ASAP.

Pay close attention to what your damage control teams are actually repairing at any given time. I noticed that Jupiter had a team deployed to fix her torpedo launcher while she was in serious danger of sinking from flooding. The auto assign DC tends to send teams to whatever gets damaged first, not what is most important, so watching that closely is a good idea so you can make sure the things that threaten your ship the most are taken care of first.

i have found that the most effective way of taking out enemy heavy assets, is flying a bomber loaded with bombs low and fast straight into the bridge of a cruiser and dropping the bombs just before impact. their AA will kill at least 1-2 of the bombers anyway, might as well make it a solo 1 way mission.

I heard you say "left full rudder" then turn the indicated ship hard right. Then you did it again! But the third time you did what you said... Great naval combat in this episode, very fun to watch. The dogfight during the second battle was especially exciting. Always looking forward to the next one. I know you don't normally have time to fly on the weekends, but you might be interested to hear that JG1 has been hosting a Flying Circus mission every Tuesday on the ACME server. Not quite as polished as the FlugPark, but it uses the new map and they've been experimenting with a 1917 plane set (Albatros and Pfalz vs Sopwith Tripehound, SPAD 7, and early Bristol).

Been a long time subscriber. Love all your vids especially war on the sea. My only crit is that the uploads seem to be too few and far between. No ones asking you to upload everyday.... We all have real lives etc. But it's frustrating waiting for the next episode that seems to take ages to come 😂😂

To be fair, he also carries so many other series that are great to watch! Gunner Heat PC, vids have been really great to watch. His Cold War series with subs/surface ships is awesome. I haven't stopped mourning the Russian Pilot who flew so many missions. I haven't even been able to watch the final flight. Long story short, he's pretty great at it compared to some people. For instance, C&Rsenal (a great youtube channel) is 2 weeks in-between primary episodes. That said, all of those videos are worth the wait. If you like in-depth history on small arms through WW1, Reproduction percussion revolvers, weird hand traps, and a show that keeps getting better...give them a shot if you haven't. All of that ad break covered, at least Wolfpack345 gives us so much great content!

I will say, I was hoping this game would see greater development, and I am disappointed things have not worked out. A mod like this could have been a DLC campaign honestly, and it's clear that they were intending more campaigns long term for the game just based off the User Interface. Great mod and great campaign to follow though!

That was an Akatsuki, aka a Fubuki C series, rather than an Akizuki. I mean the outcome would have been the same in the end but you would have had to deal with about twice the number of shells coming your direction albeit 10cm rather than 12.7cm.

@Wolfpack345 why don't you replace the default low quality model for Perth CL with the one from Ram's Catalogue Mod. It looks much better, more detailed and has the appropriate RAN markings. Also, in your Ships' data.txt file, increase the armor to 6.0 for where it shows 0.0 to simulate their deck and hull plating, 16.0 for the Jupiter and other Jervis class DD, 19.0 for Perth.

I have been enjoying your series. You find this issue with pretty much all naval games. We shall fight to the end! We ain't done till we sink! It's not very realistic in all the damage models and the reality of humans. Ships with massive damage also have massive loss of life. Unprotected crew esp AA gunners etc are long since dead. Repeated hits to the towers kills the command and the targeting. The reality is the crew would abandon long before then. At the very least there should be massive reductions in capabilities.

Destroyers are unarmored, and a stream of .50 Caliber rounds is going to shred any unprotected crew, start fires, and if lucky, detonate any sensitive explosives/fuel on deck.

.50 cal and 20mm rounds can make short work of 13mm (.5in) and 25mm (1in) construction steel plating used on ships superstructures, there's also the benefit of killing and suppressing exposed crew manning deck equipment and guns and might set off ammo, depth charges, torpedoes or other explosives stored on deck.
