I’m a former game art major, here’s some tech stuff about maybe why Floppy might not be there and why your mate and pups don’t react. If I had to guess I’d say that Floppy doesn’t spawn when you’re playing Carmella because your wolf isn’t close enough for the game to want to render Floppy in. Most likely, the game despawns Floppy when the player wolf is a certain distance away, and playing as Carmella doesn’t trigger Floppy’s spawn the way that the player wolf would. It seems the game keeps track of where your wolf is when you’re playing Carmella, so all NPC behavior that is loaded and running only applies to the area around the player wolf; that is to say, in order to keep memory low, the game ‘pauses’ the NPCs that aren’t close to the player wolf. NPCs that still move around doing tasks regardless of the player wolf’s position, like the mate, will still be active. The pups won’t, because the game is likely just tracking if they’re in the den or out of the den (and if they’re fed or not), there’s no reason for them to move around. I could be wrong, but those are my best estimates about why those things happen.

Plot twist: Carmella is actually a ghost dog! 😮🤣 Evidence: 1. Other animals don’t react to her because they can’t see her! 2. She can’t pick up objects because they would go right through her. 3. She can’t take fall or other kind of damage because she is already dead. (This also includes why she won’t be harmed if you give her poisoned meat from the cattle ranch)

I wonder if the reason why carmella can only eat (in very small amounts) and not really do anything else is because she might be the same as a stray dog mechanic wise but programmed to be playable? Not sure- just a theory

I was expecting u to start a pup attack as Carmella and u can expiriance being a pred

Ok just asking everyone here in the comments. Have you ever collected every item on the map for your pups to play with? I mean every antler, every skull and every human item.
