Wow, that really does sound naturalistic! As cool as the new music is, I could see myself turning it off sometimes just to listen to the nature sounds tbh. There's something special about being alone in the wilderness, with only the sounds of the wild to keep you company, and it sounds like the game is really gonna capture that well!

This is all going so well! With the new realistic natural audio it feels as if I’m there next to the wolf experiencing it head on! It’s almost as if this audio is a dimensional rift that brings you into the game. As if you are the wolf and this is your biome and landscape to explore! As you run free your paws seeming to devour the landscape ahead of you! Free as one with nature. Free as a *wolf* to explore and live a life of thrilling adventure among the Amethyst mountains or Yellowstone National Park. I started playing WolfQuest when I was a kid and the game was still free. I had so much fun with it, and it was a big part of my childhood. Something triggered me to remember the game a couple days ago, but when I went to open it up on my computer, I realized I must have deleted the game years ago! I was devastated, but I decided to look WolfQuest up online to see if anyone else remembered it. Lo and behold, the community is still very active and the game is being remade into something amazing! I am so happy! I don't think I will be able to afford to buy the game, but I am excited that it's being redone and it is so great to be able to keep up with it's progress here on KZbin. I hear robin calls, Canada geese calls, common yellow throat calls, pine siskin calls, ruby crowned kinglet calls, red-winged black bird calls, western meadow lark calls, western blue bird calls, chipping sparrow calls, and northern flicker calls in your current version. This is actually amazing, not even I could think of ways to improve this, the animation and vegetation density is incredible, and all the fine detail is PHENOMENAL. I didn’t know a game could be so well done and so high detailed, I’ve just started to watch the vids, and I already want to see them all. I can’t wait for this to be out, even if it takes a while, any wait, even years of wait, will be worth it by far, all the small details, even just the terrain had my jaw dropping, I’m always gonna keep my hopes up for this, and when it comes out, I will be on it 24/7, that is if it’s out on iPad Pro. I owe WolfQuest a huge thank u, for making the original game, then the updates, that have evolved to this. This is by far, the best game I have ever seen, I’ve seen a lot of games, and I’m telling u, this game is worth it. I also wanted to ask, when will WQ 3 be out for iPad Pro?

The video's about sounds, which are amazing, but this is the first video that has me in awe of the wolf model. It looks fantastic. The fur looks wonderful on the model and gives it the look of something you'd see in a new AAA game. I'm interested in how the game will run on lower end PCs! While WQ 2.0 runs beautifully at max graphics on my GTX 1060, I remember the optimisation for the game on my new-ish laptop often led to glitching and lag, and I'm going to go ahead and assume many of the people who will take interest in WQ3 are going to be young teens and old kids who have passed down laptops or the family computer to play the game on. Not worried about my computer handling WQ3 as long as it's not too spec-heavy, but looking at the graphics and tech makes me wonder whether laptop users will be able to run the game on low graphics settings at all. It's getting close to looking like, if not better than, a modded version of Skyrim, and detailed fur can be extremely hard on even the best of PCs. Do you guys know how the game, when it's finalised/properly leaving development, will run on older laptops and 'family computers' that most kids will likely be using? Will there be expected framerate drop for laptop users, or some sort of extremely low graphics mode that keeps the graphics looking more like a well-optimised WQ2? Sorry for all of the questions. Just curious, since the game is continuing to look better and better and is now beginning to look less like an educational kids game from the 2000's era and more like a modern game made by bigger company with graphics made for the gaming community rather than a nine-year-old stealing their mom's computer at night, lol.

Thanks! Those are all things we are taking into consideration. We want it to run on as many devices as possible but are also excited the make it a modern game, as you say. For the PC/Mac version, we want to ensure that a wide range of computers can run WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition. We are adding more quality levels so we can boost the visual quality much further than it is now, but we will do our very best to make the game run decently on older computers. However, since we are adding so much to the game (bigger maps, better graphics, more animals), we can’t yet say how well we can attain this goal. We don’t know exactly how much storage WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition will require, but probably about 5 GB. We'll do our best, but some low-end devices will not be powerful enough to run the game. We will keep WolfQuest 2.7 (the current game) available as well (for both computers and mobile).

Happy to hear that this game will look fantastic on a computer like mine, and equally as happy to hear that younger or less technologically-equipped gamers will still be able to play on the 2.7 version that their computers can handle! I think that should allow for great variety and give this 3.0 game much more room to blossom technically; exciting! I'm very excited to see how the 3.0 game develops, especially with updated specs and larger file size in mind. This game was my childhood and as an adult I cannot wait to see it brought to a higher quality; It'll be like seeing my childhood in the best way possible. Thanks to you (the entire team) for bringing this to life for all of us longtime players of the game; it's a massive nostalgia kick and the dev blogs are beyond inspiring to those of us who pursued art careers largely due to games like these shaping our childhood career interests.

The sound effects are AMAZING! It's going to literally be like visiting the real Yellowstone when I play this game!! For some reason I always thought that the sound bull elk make is pretty, and so are the bird calls! This game is very detailed just seeing the evaluation from the first to the third game it’s just amazing seeing this. Idk how you do this but it’s amazing. I don’t have this game but I love people watching it. Well, actually I have the game on my iPad and I love playing it. You guys are amazing at these games. I would love to see more development to WolfQuest for my iPad. I can’t get the game on the computer cause rules and all but I really enjoy playing it on my IPad. It keeps me occupied when there is no internet and it keeps me really happy 😊. WolfQuest is available for Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android & Kindle. So yes, WolfQuest 3 will be available for mobile phones and tablets...at least some of them, and/or in some form. Bigger maps and more animals may be too much for mobile devices with limited RAM memory. We'll do our best, but some low-end mobile devices will not be powerful enough to run the game. We will keep WolfQuest 2.7 (the current game) available as well (for both computers and mobile).

I don’t like you saying “ this isn’t visually exciting”. This is the kind of stuff that makes Or breaks a good game. All of these small little attention to detail things that you wouldn’t necessarily think to add. Not having these things wouldn’t ruin the game but just because you added them it makes a game that much more immersive an interesting. Once again the wolf quest team kills it again. This is the stuff that many players will not even knowledge. But I definitely appreciate all this effort! Can’t wait to play!

I think that maybe adding a slight echo to those coyote calls and the elk bugles would be perfect! Despite being quieter to suggest distance, they still sound suspiciously close. Nontheless, you and your team have done a fantastic job making this thriving soundscape, awesome work!!!
