GT Zaskar Dave here! The Zaskar was/is GT's top of the line aluminum frame. My frame was made in 1994 back when they were still being hand-welded in California by Gary Turner and company. We have built it up using some great new and retro parts. I will send some pics in as soon as possible. I also built up a 2020 Aggressor Pro that I am riding. The Zaskar is a 26er and fits my 11 year old son perfectly now. He will definitely be wearing a helmet (unlike his dad) and probably full face. We aren't spending a fortune on braces just to have those chompers get knocked out!

I think it is great there is a dropper on this bike at the price. I have mine up for climbs and flat ground that I pedal on. Any other time that bad boy is down! The best part of this bike is upgradability. Great video guys!!!!!

Returning the Axum DP fellas. Front wheel hub blew up on the 2nd time out on a flat paved trail. Walked back 2 miles. It had grease 🤔. I'm 6'2 and 220 but I wasn't even doing anything when it happened. I had no intention to upgrade the wheelset yet. So this may be a deal breaker. Second target / Walmart bike I purchased in the last 20 years to fail on me catastrophically in the first week of ownership. The Ascension actually felt better to me too. It fit me like a glove. I felt like a circus bear on the large Axum. It felt like I was way over the front end. Going to look for a used full suspension or finance something, and turn my 26" Cannondale into a little jumper. I already have the parts laying around.

That can be a hassle. The fork I get will be boost anyway, so I could possibly just get a front wheel for now. Or even just a hub, and lace it in. I'll have to ponder this for a bit. The used market sucks where I am in NorCal, so honestly that probably isn't even an option. Oh yeah bro, I'm not going anywhere. I'll watch every video you guys upload. I'm still interested to see your reviews on parts and accessories and any future budget bikes you review!

I think after you put good brakes and group set on the axDP, you should put you your favorite straight steerer fork on the GT aggressor and you favorite tapered fork on the axDP and put them head to head

I have the 2020 Axum non dp. My Box 4 derailleur and shifter just arrived and now I have to wait for the chain tool that I forgot to order. I can’t wait to try and install it and see the difference it makes on the bike! Next I plan on ordering some hydraulic breaks and after that, I’m wanting to get a new fork. I’m thinking the rockshox jeudy silver or the sr suntour epixon. I’m pretty new to all this so it’s a lil sketch for me so I like to watch your vids. Keep it up!

Well let's see, in 5 years we think the Axum will be the premier Big Box Store Mountain Bike and will feature a cheap re-branded Chinese air fork and probably a slightly upgraded groupset. It's "a spot of tea" not "a little". One must drink ones tea with a bit of milk or lemon to be authentic.Two bagger? TMI! lol. Earl Grey is strong. I'm a tea drinker and don't like it. I think that Axum did awesome right out of the box. I don't think it's a surprise that stock big box forks bottom out when you gain that much air. Looks like you pounded on that bike, had fun doing it, and it came out healthy enough to upgrade to an absolute beast of a low budget trail bike.

I watched your Rock Shock Recon video and that had a ton of clearance but the tire seemed not the 2.6 size either. Hey we were gifted a fox tapered float for my sons 27.5 Aluminum Comp 2021 Female bike and it looks amazing! I’ll send it with the picks of my new Axum Medium tomorrow! I need to snap a shot of it on the trail...patio pictures don’t do it justice.

Man you are right at the in between height so it's all about if you like a bigger feeling bike or not. Since you don't know what you like I would go with the large and you could change the bars and stem if needed to fit you better. Then again since you are a new rider you might want a smaller bike, so who knows man. Sorry we can't give you a straight answer. I guess you are just going to have to give one a try and see what you think. Let us know what you end up doing man👍.

Just to se ur next sticker i do not want one!! Just finished a 40 km ride and a 50km yesterday. Only need 2200 meters to get the strava 7,500meter climb chalange and 70 km to do the 400 km chal... this month. Been raining a lot so not going to do the 800 km one
