Wollomombi Falls - Armidale

These are the Wollomombi Falls which are 36 km proximately east of the town of Armadale New South Wales. For this adventure I elected to bring out the drone. I am using a DJI mini 3 pro and I’m very happy with this drone. It captures some gorgeous footage like this. The actual Road to the waterfalls is completely paved. And it is clearing signed for the right turn travelling east. There is parking as well as picnic tables and toilets.
Honestly I would be interested in going back. The waterfalls themselves had a I want to say lush sound which unfortunately the drone does not record audio. I sort of had the idea that it would’ve been nice to capture about an hours loop and use it for relaxation.
The visit to the falls was part of a long weekend motorcycle tour up to Tamworth with the mighty Luke and I made this one of our destinations. Definitely a place to add on the list of destinations for motorcyclist. We journey along Putty Road up to Singleton then joined the New England highway to reach Tamworth. Honestly, we probably could’ve got more days out of it. There was one or two small towns I wished that we had more time to spend in just a visit and to walk around, because I am a softy for nostalgia and heritage.
One of the things that we ended up doing purely by chance on this trip was after our Saturday night bistro dinner in Tamworth I how about we check out the lookout which I totally forgotten about. At this point it was coming up to about 10 o’clock in the evening when I made this suggestion. And you know what it might be prettier at night verses when it is during the day. It was just wonderful to see the city lights. Sadly I didn’t have my camera with me because I wasn’t expecting or considering that we would be doing alternative things after dinner.
We didn’t take enough breaks for ourselves. I certainly had a few areas in pain and that certainly could be alleviated just by stopping somewhere Just dismounting having a stretch and stroll.
So a lot of funny story. We stopped at Moonbi lookout which was along the way to Armadale and of course I had brought the drone for the trip. Now I haven’t flown the drone very much because there’s a lot of regulation which is restrictive. So I don’t take the drone out as much as I could. And in the excitement of reacquainting myself to flight plain forgot to press record. Still the lookout is definitely worth a stop in and check it out.
