Wolverine #4 Upgrades Logan's Adamantium to Something BETTER

Wolverine from Earth-12025 also had bones that were bonded with Adamantine. It was known as the metal of the Gods. The Adamantine from that alternate Earth also had a golden appearance as well as magical properties. It's was an Olympian metal for which Adamantium was named and was used to create Olympian weapons and items.

Actually, Omega Red's tentacles are made of Carbonadium, not adamantium. It's the same material that Deadpool's katanas are made from. It's a tough, malleable, unstable, and radioactive metal that is nearly indestructible, but less durable than adamantium.

Wolverine with a symbiote isn't necessary, but it's always fun to see. That symbiote being a potentially better metal than the poisonous adamantium he has had for years is even better for me. I like the character development with Wen-di-go, and I agree Wolvie shows up best when he has someone to protect and impart his experiences onto. Thanks for covering this book!

No because mysterium is going to have some kind of hidden Dark price. And admantium As always had a weird mysterious origin. In the new Dr Doom movie It's probably going to take the place of vibranium for how he absorbs cosmic power. It's supposed to now come from the petrified flesh of the celestial tiamat. So It makes sense that going to update it upgrade it in the comic books to keep up with mysterium. Vibranium in the ultimate universe which is just an alternate timeline has been revealed to be sentient meaning the vibranium in the regular universe is also sentient. So vibranium and admantine are both sentient.. So how much you want to bet mysterium is the same ? Admantium is too much part of the Marvel to get rid of Yeah I bet mysterium's going to turn out to be evil. But admantium Will be just misunderstood.😂

The time between Logan having not having metal was a long ass time. 4 or 5 years it took for him to fully get it back. Even lost his nose too in the process to get it back but only chose it in the end to prevent Sabertooth from becoming Death for Apocalypse then. He figured someone could rescue him over Creed.

Zeus gifted an alternate version of wolverine the adamantine skeleton since he and Hercules were a fighting duo. The two fell in love and were cast out of Olympus as a punishment. The metal is psychic resistant and magically indestructible down to the molecular level. It's a perfect fit for wolverine. I have always liked it. I didn't even mind the romantic nature of the comic that had Logan and Hercules be lovers. The story was good and not just about a taboo relationship.

Glad to see Wendigo wasnt just murdered and is actually slowly regaining humanity. I remember there was a pedant that allowed a Wendigo to retain their mind, but it was YEARS ago. And on the Adamantine entity, Ahmed seems to be a fan of myths and legends. Since he had the Exiles go to the OG Arabian Knights world of Alladinn.(The book is quite different than the movie.) Makes me wonder if they'll have the adamantine reveal that it's actually a Greek God that was sealed away, similar to Nyx who's currently in Thor.

Good call back. We also know Adamantine is supposed to be the god metal Hercules's mace is made of (not that we see it much these days). Plus there was the Exiles connection to the Herc/Wolvie pairing where he was laced with adamantine instead of adamantium. Since it's clearly sentient, being an ancient (or precursor) Greek god would be on brand.

I preferred his claws being an additive component of Weapon X not they simply added adamantium to his "bone claws". His healing factor, heighten senses etc were enough of a mutation he didn't need to be born with bone claws. There was an era in X-men stuff where the mutants, especially new or stale characters where getting the kitchen sink treatment when it came to powers. Logan getting bones claws was around that time too.

The original version of Adamantine is from Olympian gods- Hercules' golden mace is made from it, for example. The human version was a recreation of that mythic metal. It was never alive before though, so maybe we're seeing something trapped in the metal and trying to escape. Vibranium is just ridiculous. They've changed what that is like twenty times already. That's a rabbit hole you could make a few posts about.

What about Solan (? The Arakkan mutant with Adamantium exterior? It seems a little odd to have a skin of metal, which must retain heat and keep moisture in. While I love the Wolverine character. He's become the Superman/Batman of Marvel being used too much with too many backstories and always same old retread stories of his past lives, the adamantium, messed up mind. It over saturates the character and readership with multiple comics and strains the timeline/credibility of how one character having so many adventures in one's life past, present, future. It's no wonder his mind if fractured and messed up, to remember details of experiences of such a long time and remember/forgetting/remembering/forgetting. For normal humans, we use maybe 10% of our brain cells, given that alcohol usage tends to destroy brain cells, Logan's regenerative ability might regrow them, but cells are memory much like a disk drive. When sectors are saved as data, it saves a pointer from one sector to the next. When data compression occurs, it moves the data from one sector to another with the pointer changed for the retrieval pointer moved. If a bad sector occurs on accessing the data, it because sectors went bad, pointers are lost, which is why data backups are needed on data so that when copied, all data is backed up in order. For a human cell to be damaged and hold memory, it won't be recovered. Logan's healing factor, for regrowing cells, replaces cells lost/damaged, such as lost fingernails, hair. So his brain cells will regrow, but not necessarily replace the data, otherwise with all the experiences one, has/learns, it would mean Logan's cognitive ability would be genius level of retaining any/everything he can learn.

I think it will be like the time he lost his adamantium. It´s going to be for a while and then it will go back to regular adamantium. Marvel can´t seem to keep this kind of changes for long although there are exceptions). The hot claws that drain his healing factor are rarelly used so they are technically removed, like all those powers Superman seemed to have back in the day and that for some reason he just stop using (ven before Crisis)

Damn, I haven't ready Wolverine comics in a minute but you had me and lost me in the same sentence. I like the idea of pure adamantium, that has such huge implications for Logan and his longevity. However, it being sentient destroys that entire premise. If it were just a metal, cool, but the first question I asked after you mentioned it's goal was, "if this is pure, how was fake adamantium (unbreakable metal) created to be so good? Also, if fake adamantium was made, why wasn't pure adamantine not used if it's better?"

I feel the same way about this as when they turned Spider-Man into some mystical thing, broke up Pete and MJ... It's a bad gimmick, the only thing it has succeeded in doing is weaken the history of adamantium, not strengthen the adamantium or the character. Why can't they just tell a good story? Why must every story involve his claws? The best stories were the ones were Logan was outclassed. Hard to beat Wolverine volume 1, Marc Silvestri and Mark Teixeira had issues with Sabretooth absolutely terrorizing Logan, the stories weren't about the adamantium, they were intense and created a situation where Logan was powerless. That was good writing. Marvel has lost the magic.
