Thanks! I wonder if engravings on katana blade are common in japanese historical swords. I know the sword-smiths of old engraved their name in the nakago (tang). In Scandinavia it was somewhat common practice. Most famous examples are +VLFBERH+T engravings on high quality blades of Viking era.

We (Americans) tend to soften all of our depictions of what war and gruesome death truly look like while constantly glorifying violence, doing so is disingenuous and is shameful in my opinion. Yashida-san and Kuzuri appear to be South and upwind of the burning remains of what appears to be Nagasaki, so they are in the better position given the circumstances. In old age Yashida-sama seems to have cancer and is dying from it.

But besides that, don't forget that Wolverine has super strength. His bones would HAVE to also be super tough to not shatter from half the stuff he does. Also, bones are pretty strong in compression.

not true. Tsutomu Yamaguchi Hiroshima bombing Yamaguchi lived and worked in Nagasaki, but in the summer of 1945 he was in Hiroshima for a three-month-long business trip. On 6 August, he was preparing to leave the city with two colleagues, Akira Iwanaga and Kuniyoshi Sato, and was on his way to the train station when he realized he had forgotten his hanko (a type of identification stamp common in Japan) and returned to his workplace to get it. At 8:15 AM, he was walking towards the docks when the American B-29 bomber Enola Gay dropped the Little Boy atomic bomb near the centre of the city, only 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) away. Yamaguchi recalls seeing the bomber and two small parachutes, before there was "a great flash in the sky, and I was blown over". The explosion ruptured his eardrums, blinded him temporarily, and left him with serious radiation burns over the left side of the top half of his body. After recovering, he crawled to a shelter and, having rested, he set out to find his colleagues. They had also survived and together they spent the night in an air-raid shelter before returning to Nagasaki the following day. In Nagasaki, he received treatment for his wounds and, despite being heavily bandaged, he reported for work on 9 August. Nagasaki bombing At 11:00 AM on 9 August 1945, Yamaguchi was describing the blast in Hiroshima to his supervisor, when the American bomber Bockscar dropped the Fat Man atomic bomb over the city. His workplace again put him 3 km from ground zero, but this time he was unhurt by the explosion. However, he was unable to replace his now ruined bandages and he suffered from a high fever and continuous vomiting for over a week.

First thing I thought when I saw the movie
@awesometwitchy Жыл бұрын
Ignoring that he would have been blinded and covered in 3rd degree burns the millisecond it went off, I think he'd be safe from radiation sitting in that well. Gamma rays are stopped by concrete and dirt, and from what I've read fallout was minimal in both Japanese cities because the bombs were detonated half a kilometer above (fireball didn't touch the Earth). He may have suffered some symptoms of radiation poisoning like vomiting and headache, maybe even developed cancer years later, but he'd survive.

There are more than one kind of Japanese sword, some are designed to be held by one hand, some by two. Despite considered unorthodox, the Katana can be held by one hand as well. Miyamo Musashi's technique is one glaring example. No way a Japanese soldier trained to use such sword did not know all this. Also the way Wolverine held the sword with two hands was wrong. The hands are supposed to be more spread apart. Hollywood... Pretends to respect a culture, only to disregard delicate details for the sake of flair.

Radiation from a Nuclear bomb is a lot different than nuclear radiation leaking from a power plant. Most nukes are detonated at least 500 metres above the ground so it maximizes air burst but also minimizes radioactive fallout.
@X-zag2 ай бұрын
Most of the radiation goes away in about a month because every sevenfold increase in time = 10% decrease in radiation.

The real offender isn't the 2 hands thing, but TOUCHING THE BLADE WITH YOUR HANDS. Don't ever touch a katana w/ ur hands cause the oil from ur hands can stain the blade. My bro in law slid his fingers down mine the day after I got it. A year later & no matter how much I oil and polish it the finger prints are still there. He's still cool and all, but I feel dishonored lol

i think it was subconsciously trapped somewhere in his mind with other memories, he just couldn’t use them. It’s why Professor X and Jean Grey could read some of his past memories and why he got flashbacks to the Weapon X program in X2.

So an atomic bomb leaves some structure behind and doesn’t kill Yashida with remaining radioactivity. Looks like it was just a normal bombardment 😅

These were very primitive and large bombs with few tests. Within 24 hours 90% of the radiation was gone and within a week it was almost non-existent

its a nice fairy tale, but the cruelty of the japanese in WW2 was worse than that of the germans in many respects. there was a good reason why all of asia rejaoiced at the dropping of those bombs, and it wasnt because japan wasnt known for their kind treatment of citizens
