one thing i love about this video is the lack of mid role ads despite the nearly half-hour run time compared to the GTAV videos with 13 mid role ads in a 10-11 minute run time. It really shows that you're really only doing this to share your amazing ability to create props/cosplays as well as your knowledge in this field. i tip my hat to you, punished props

Along with rounding off the edges of the part you hold in your hand, have you also considered painting them a tan/skin toned color to also help them blend in with the rest of your hand?

I have a model file for a set of printable bone claws if your interested. They are fitted to my hand but are easy to tweak. You do need a 275 mm print bed to do them in one piece.
@punishedprops7 жыл бұрын
+TattooPyramidHead Thanks, but I'm all set. =D

When shaping the claw interior to accommodate the pins you might want to use ruffled files.

That should read riffler files.

@TheRunesmythe7 жыл бұрын
Those came out looking pretty cool. It might be interesting to try using some silver rub 'n buff on the blades to get them to a really bright sheen. Have you considered painting the actual handgrip part so it sort of matches skin tone? It would probably make that part blend in more completely with your hand.
@punishedprops7 жыл бұрын
I actually tinkered with the finish a bit more yesterday. After the gloss finish I hit it with some chrome lacquer that made it a bit more shiny. Yes I may paint the hand grip if I have time before Dragon Con.

Is there a way to add all the micro-scratches that would normally be seen in a sword? I know it's not canon, but I'd love to add a fuller just to get a more sword-like catching of the light on its surface.
@punishedprops7 жыл бұрын
A fuller could be carved in by hand using files. For tiny scratches, go at it with some strategically placed, low grit sand paper scratches.

If I may ask, why didn't you model and resin print this, and clean it, make a silicone mold and cast 6 or them identical?
@punishedprops3 жыл бұрын
I like to try different techniques depending on my time and project needs! That's also a totally viable option for making these claws, but the method in this video is a bit faster and cheaper. Also I think at the time we didn't have our resin printer yet!
