Exactly. He easily could've been a heisman candidate on a more pass heavy team but Ohio State lied to him so he came here and just won games. Many players claim to care about team success much more than personal accolades but you can tell JJ truly means it

Bryce Underwood isn’t a great fit for the University of Michigan Wolverines football program/culture…. They were right to still recruit him b/c of his size & talent, but they knew he probably wasn’t going to choose to play for them. You gotta be extremely unselfish and forward thinking to fit in with the culture built over the past few years at UofM….. plus it didn’t hurt them one bit by missing out on someone else like Jadyn Davis or Carter Smith anyways. I wish him all the best over there at LSU, unless the Wolverines meet them in the playoffs of course! Wolverines will be just fine…. GO BLUE Baby!!! 〽️💙🏈🏆 “The CHAMPS are here!”

He's right to an extent, but Bryce just simply had a brain cramp because JJ McCarthy went #11 in the 1st to the Vikings. But here's the skinny, what LSU QB's were drafted in the 1st round outside of Joe Burrows and Jayden Daniels. BOTH were transfers INTO LSU, Burrows from OSU and Daniels from ASU. LSU hadn't produced, nor developed ANY QB's at all from recruitment since JaMarcus Russell. Bryce should be really careful and make sure he doesn't turn into another JaMarcus Russell BUST.

@MooseGoBlue i respect him for saying I went to LSU because they produce high-quality receivers, and they put qb's in the league at a good rate. When asked about michigan, he basically said who we got. The answer is no one, JJ has been the only one in the past 20 years, and I'm pretty sure he knew there was a possibility Jim wasn't coming back. Not to mention, they told him we aren't taking another QB in your class, and a couple weeks later, we had a commit. Michigan produces lineman, and front 7 guys and that's ok. We can't produce every position and as michigan fans we shouldn't be fanatics, we need to understand our bread and butter.

@@313massey Ruddock was drafted, Denard was drafted not as a QB obviously but ya know not everyone is going to be a NFL QB. Henne was a 2nd rounder and played about 15 years. Then you got John Navarre and Drew Henson. Pretty much every Michigan QB in the last 40 years with decent playing time has either been drafted or at least got to try out with some teams and that includes one of the worst stretches for Michigan football as a whole.

Michigan fan. No shade thrown. He is right about QB development and as a fan the style of offense Michigan plays doesn't create a huge upside for play maker quarterbacks. Along the same lines we don't recruit elite WR either again because of the style of offense. Fans had a heart attack when Rich Rod took over and came full circle to content with winning a Natty with a boring offense. Player development and recruiting to the style of the offensive and defensive schemes pays dividends.

@@Hackshots68 Shea Patterson was a 5 star. Most had JJ as a 5 star. Plenty examples of 5 star QBs not panning out, so I wouldn't say it is easy to develop based on rating system of high schoolers. 2 five star players from last years team including JJ. I'd say they did pretty well developing 'mediocre' talent.

He must believe he's not as good as JJ and needs extra help to be drafted in the first round. Either that or it's just a shot you take after taking the LSU bag. Maybe he felt like he had to justify taking the bag while passing up the 12 time National champions just down the road. So be it.... He's gonna be a good player on another underachieving LSU team that will continue to be the doormat of Alabama and Georgia..... But he got paid, so that doesn't matter. He's not a team player, which means he wouldn't have been a good fit for Michigan.

All but JJ had success in the NFL although Denard’s was at RB. Right now. Who gives a RAT.. Underwood doesn't know history. Besides Joe Burrow (who started at Ohio State) and Daniels the majority of QBs from LSU have been busters. So why the shade if you don't like Michigan move on, you made your decision move on. But this was all about him, he's selfish wouldn't have been a good fit or team player for Michigan. Here is some history that I know he lacked the ability to investigate and that's why he's going to one of the lowest rated academic schools in the SEC. Michigan has had many notable quarterbacks who have played in the NFL, including Super Bowl champions, backup quarterbacks, and other notable players: Tom Brady: Played for Michigan from 1996 to 1999 and is considered one of the most successful professional athletes of all time. Brady has won seven Super Bowls, five Super Bowl MVP awards, and three NFL MVP awards. Chad Henny: Won two Super Bowls as a backup to Patrick Mahomes. Brian Griese: Won a ring as a backup to John Elway. Todd Collins: Had a long professional career. Jim Harbaugh: Had a long professional career and recruited and developed JJ McCarthy, who some say is the greatest quarterback in Michigan history. Steve Grbac: Was drafted by San Francisco in 1993 and later became the starter for the Kansas City Chiefs, leading them to two playoff appearances and a division title.
