@plawson85775 жыл бұрын
Neutral Artist Bishop was born in 2015. He’s literally a Millennium ahead of Cable. Also in this episode/timeline, Wolverine did eventually die of old age sometime around 2040 as you can see his Adamantium Skeleton being placed on display in Forge’s laboratory. This is also foreshadowing how Apocalypse’s Virus is going to be defeated. The episode also points how that only Wolverine survived the Plague prior to Cable and Bishop stopping in the alternate timeline. At the end of the story arc, with the virus eliminated, it’s implied that everyone lived until old age, but that by the late 31st Century, Wolverine’s Antibodies were being researched and used to cure all diseases.

John Clark he did in the comics aswell like he was never able to beat sabretooth or within their own team Colossus Rogue or even Gambit and Archangel kicked his ass. Wolverines power was always about being able to take a punch more so then handing them out. Not that he's not superskilled but he could take a beating from the Hulk and still get up that was his main strength even tho their power levels were way apart. its not until the ultimate universe and later the movies that he became so undefeatable
@azraelangelofred7 жыл бұрын
Well, they were trying HARD AS HECK to put Cyclops over. In short, Wolverine's lost before but until the last years of his time, he didn't lose NEAR as much as the first few seasons portrayed him. After that, it was more Wolverine winning because they realized they could NOT put Cyclops over Wolverine, Wolverine later only got beat if he was heavily outnumbered or someone cheap shotted him. Later on in the series, Wolverine was hard to stop. But also, if Wolverine won, he'd usually kill them. In Season 1, he had Sabretooth but Xavier distracted him. Wolverine also had Calypso on the run, retreating. He wins another against Sabretooth one on one but gets interrupted by Silver Fox. When Sinister abducted Jean Grey, Logan woke up early and was doing pretty good despite being outnumbered when he jumped them, then later despite a lack of healing factor was bustin' his way into Mr. Sinister's lab to help free the X-Men. He also broke into the Hellfire Club and despite being outnumbered, barged his way through to help free the x-men. He also defeated Lady Deathstroke but got shot from behind and earlier busted up four or five cyborg mercenaries. If you look, he DOES eventually start kicking ass but at the beginning, they were trying VERY hard to put Cyke over.

Why are people surprised Cable beat Wolverine? Cable is one of the most powerful mutants in the series who has technology from the distant future. Cable's creation was manipulated by Mr. Sinister so that Cable can topple the almighty Apocalypse. I remember how I always figured the three reasons Wolverine kept losing in the first few season was: #1. They wanted boy scouts like Cyclops and so forth (Better "role models" I suppose) to be put over him, so they tried hard to make Wolverine's brash, bold, loner attitude look like a loser. #2. With his adamantium claws, he was limited in the violence he could show, so while the stories were largely based on actual comics, they had to tone Wolverine's violence down. #3. They wanted to show off his healing factor, so they kept having him get hurt. Despite that, the fanbase kept growing for Wolverine because he never backed down, feared nearly no one and would fearlessly throw down with anyone. Which shows you can make Wolverine lose every single fight, but we'll still love him. He's a MAN'S man. Boots and jeans, drives a jeep, has chest hair and facial hair. He likes the woods, he doesn't cry or whine about his feelings, and even though he's a loner, when the cards are down, he's stepped up for his fellow X-Man and wouldn't abandon them (Especially Gambit, Jubilee, Rogue and Nightcrawler, I always felt they were his closest friends, but even with Cyclops, he was there for him sometimes). He has trust issues and he's aggressive, he's a war veteran... but he also had loyalty to the team in his own way and he had an honor code he followed. He was one of the best Marvel characters ever. So Cable won this fight. But it'll still be an awesome Wolverine moment to me.
@ci3bf3 жыл бұрын
Your post is interesting. I agree with points #2 and #3, but #1 is a bit paranoid as I doubt the producers intentially sought to undermine the character. You say that Logan is a "man's man", but I feel that Wolverine, being the angry guy that he is, appeals mainly to those who yet lack the maturity to vent their frustrations in a manner that society would deem acceptable, so mostly adolescents and stunted (male) adults. A guy who seeks to solve (indeed perpetuate) conflicts with adamantium-coated claws naturally doesn't make for the best role model growing up. Hence why the character loses a lot of lustre as one grows older / matures. My favourite aspects of Wolverine are his propensity for suffering (frequently overplayed) and his vast knowledge due to a long and rich history (frequently downplayed). But the writers constant attempts to create characters evil enough to merit evisceration by him must inevitably become tiresome.
@azraelknightquest57543 жыл бұрын
@@ci3bf There were ways around it but I don't think "paranoia" had anything to do with it. I think that's just something you're saying to try and undermine my point. They tried as hard as possible to make Cyclops the best of the best, constantly dropping Sentinels left, right and center, constantly having Cyclops win the big battles, until they finally realized no matter how many times they made Wolverine lose, he would be loved. He remains one of Marvel's top sellers. It was only afterwards, Wolverine started recovering faster from getting knocked out, doing sneak attacks, winning fights but being stopped only because he stopped one strike away, starting busting up people by clawing their weapons and kicking/punching them and knocking them out/down. So I would have to say, you didn't really observe that.
@ci3bf3 жыл бұрын
@@azraelknightquest5754 Cyclops is the "First X-Man", and arguably the best. He's their ace, their Captain America, their "Batman", as Grant Morrison wrote in his pitch for New X-Men. As Xavier's second-in-command, in the former's absence it falls on him to lead the team. The movies failed for several reasons (at least imo), one of the most important being the lack of a good Cyclops. The Last Stand goes off the rails the instant he's unceremoniously killed off. Logan, on the other hand, is the team's joker / wild card. There's no denying his popularity and appeal, but being a loner and reluctant team member (at least inceptionally) he isn't as natural a leader as Scott. They can and should coexist, if only for the love triangle with Jean Grey. What I'm saying is, there's nothing wrong with Cyclops being featured prominently in X-Men media, and I doubt that it came at the expense of Wolverine.
@azraelknightquest57543 жыл бұрын
@@ci3bf 1. There's no denying that Cyclops is one of the original and deserves respect. I personally don't like him but I always respected the character. I read the comics years before I ever watched the first X-Men movie (Which I think you assumed I was a movie fan more than comic fan, kinda bothers me) and I am forced to agree that the movies kind of did fail Cyclops. For all the flaws I felt he had, he definitely had more personality than the movies portrayed. But Wolverine was at one time and for a long time the best selling X-Men character and retains that number, he is also Marvel's 2nd highest selling character (Spiderman coming in at first). I don't think the comics tried to put Cyclops over Wolverine, I think the CARTOON did for moral reasons and it didn't work right. But I will admit, he is one of the best X-Men characters even if I don't like him. His leadership style, his long-standing in the team, the stories and his personality are to me akin to a family member I don't like and that annoys me but I still consider one of the best in the family. But I still believe the cartoon tried to put Cyclops over Wolverine because of Wolverine's angry and violent nature in contrast to Cyclops' more mellowed out, responsible nature (Which, admittingly, does make him better as leader of the X-men, considering the X-men's style and goal. Doesn't mean I like him best). That being said, the way Cyclops has been portrayed lately has murdered the character for shock value and I personally took offense to it ,I find myself missing the Cyclops of the 90s and more fond of him. Do not mistake my disapproval to how the Cartoon treated Wolverine and Cyclops with me wanting to get rid of Cyclops or trying to undercut Cyclops. Cyclops should ALWAYS be in the X-Men and as leader (or at the very least, one of the highest ranking ones). I'm not saying Cyclops isn't marketable, I'm not saying he's a failure and I'm not saying he should have been excluded. I'm saying that X-Men TAS from the 90's tried too hard to push Cyclops too much over Wolverine and tried to cut Wolverine too much, instead of portraying them more along the lines of equally. Cyclops someone always one-shots dang near everyone, Wolverine's claws seem to struggle to do much at all sometimes or he flat out gets beat in the first season. Yes, they can co-exist and SHOULD. They balance each other quite well. And if there's one admirable things between Wolverine and Cyclops, it's that in the Comics despite the jealousy, Wolvie and Cyke always had each others backs: They'd bleed for each other, fight for each other and never leave the other behind. And while I'm sure there might be a one-shot here or there, but for the most part I never saw Wolverine purposely try to sabotage Cyke and Jean's relationship and I never saw Cyke purposely try to screw over or get rid of Logan over his jealousy. Something to be said about two men with polar opposite personalities, styles and both wanting the same girl overcoming their issues and maintaining loyalty to each other.

Most of Wolverine's fictional time, he has been able to be put down. Only now because of fanboys is he an instantaneous-massive wound healer.
@michelvanderlinden83633 жыл бұрын
@@mosesmelchezidek5295 seriously though. I have some of the classic comics from the 80's, like the Mutant Massacre saga and the Inferno saga that followed. Him and Sabretooth did heal up from extreme wounds but.. they were out of comission for a long time, with grievous wounds actually healing very slow because it was so taxing on their healing powers. Cue to 30 years later during the Wolverine Origins storyline with the first time Romulus was mentioned, and both him and sabretooth survive an aircrash, and fight eachother with both of them having only half a face and their flesh largely melted off. Wolverine was cool back then, now he's a giant "eh.. he'll heal" character. Immortal characters arent that interesting.

I was born in the 1980's, growing up as a kid in the 1990's, i was a different breed, i really wanted wolverine to be psycho in the Xmen, thats why i was a fan of Gambit, because he blew stuff up & would call Wolverine's bluff. I remember an episode where they were working out doors and Gambit placed a card on a 2x4 and almost blew up Wolverines hand. Good times, guess that is why i grew up a Bruce Lee fan, because he beat people up in his movies, yeah, i had a weird childhood where i wanted to see fights, not only in movies, but in cartoons as well.
@jeremiah_1211 ай бұрын
It’s interstate the Wolverine/Gambit dynamic wasn’t used in the live action movies. I remember reading an article where the people involved were explaining that they felt the characters were too similar and therefore they just decided to leave one out, Gambit. That explanation was so BS because they were just looking at surface level character archetypes. They saw Gambit as another “loner type” who challenges leadership. While that is true, to an extent, he is much richer than that and Gambit calling Wolvie’s bluff is something that X-Men fans would appreciate and further endear him to audiences. The writers involved with the Fox films thought that Gambit would “undermine” Wolverine’s brand as The Alpha Male of the team. 🤔
