I never even thought of owning a Pitt, not because of peoples wrong opinions, just didn’t consider it. Then a puppy was abandoned outside of my wife’s salon. We took her to vet, got all shots, and tried to find her a home. Seven months later she’s a year old, perfect health, and her permanent home ended up being mine. She’s been a complete blessing, a million smiles a day with her.

THANK YOU for accepting, loving, and recognizing Sweet Pea for the beautiful dog she is! IMO, her quirky ears only add to her beauty! Absolutely true that dogs are typically a mirror image of the environment they live in. What most people fail to understand is that despite their past, pit bulls (and staffies) are so forgiving and intelligent that they can be rehabilitated to become the model dog that most people ooh and ahh over! All they need is to be given a chance!

My current dog, Elsa is my 5th dog, and 1`st pit bull. Prior to Elsa I had never been around a pit. But I knew that in the 1800's they were known as "The Nanny Dog" because they were so protective of, and good with kids. Elsa is the best dog I have ever had. I rescued her from a No-Kill Shelter. Well I have grown to love pitties❤. I think they are the sweetest dogs there are. I have seen abused and vicious dogs from this breed because of the way that they were used. I had 2 pitties and loved them. They are not aggressive unless you make them that way. They are very loyal. Most people don’t know that they used to be the most popular dog in the 20’s and 30’s. The dog on Our Gang Comedy was a pittie and the dog on the RCA emblem listening to the gramophone was a pittie.

That is an anomaly for any breed, and there are many reasons why a dog would turn aggressive that has nothing to do with breed. It's a mistake to reason from the particular to the general.@@zammmerjammer

Hey, I remember Tater Tot’s video from a few weeks ago, so it’s nice to see Sweet Pea’s story here, too! As soon as I can adopt another, a black pitbull (or similar mix) would be among my first choices, even better if it’s older or overlooked. Despite what ppl say, that it’s about “how the dog was raised”, it’s really more about their current environment. Plenty of animals, like ppl, come from horrible circumstances and given the chance w/patience and understanding, they become the sweetest. So I agree that, in my humble experience, our pets tend to mirror us after some time - b/c we’re all they’ve got.💕🐾☮️
