@@angelikaradominska5512 It's never easy. I unfortunately lost my best buddy last April and it was very unexpected and he got worse rapidly as had a brain tumor. I still cry every day without him in my life. I've lost more people throughout the yrs then most could comprehend or "deal" with and he had helped me so much with the loss of my oldest brother and then my father the following year. I had lost dogs before as a young kid and still mourned them, but nothing compared to how I feel now. Totally lost and never smile or laugh anymore and hate the holidays now..

I adopted a senior cat that came with my house. Now that I've fostered several alongside him I am absolutely a senior cat and dog lover. They're so much more chill when they realize they're safe. Well, except Stewie, the one that came with the house. Even at 17, he's a menace. He's a non-stop whirlwind of fluff and activity.

@@dieseldabz7104 I had a dog like that. When I thought of him for only a moment I'd start to tear up and not even be able to speak about him without choking on my words and failing miserably at trying to hold back my tears. I was absolutely heart broken for 10yrs. I still am, still get teary when I think of him& even now my eyes are flooded just writing about him. I'll always love and miss him, but my heart has finally begun healing ever since I adopted my pitbull Ramsey. I didn't think I could get close to another dog ever again, I didn't want to because it hurt too much. I even kept my walls up, kept Ramsey at a distance because I was afraid to get emotionally attached...but day by day he grew on me & broke down the walls I'd built and, in doing so, brought so much joy back into my life. While he'll never replace Bud in my heart...or be remotely as smart as Bud was 🤫 he's not very bright...& Despite the fact that he's really nothing like Bud was aside from also being over 100lbs & a pitbull/mastiff mix.. Despite the fact that he isn't Bud & never will be, I've found that I do love Ramsey with every fiber of my being, which is something I thought I'd never have again with any other dog. He's my best friend & I couldn't imagine life without him. I often look back on the decade of my life spent without any dog in my life, how devastated & utterly heart broken I was all that time & I now wish I'd adopted a new Buddy much much sooner. Life isn't life without a dog to share it with. If I could go back in time I'd go rescue a dog right away, not a decade later. Somewhere out there your perfect pup is waiting for you to find him & rescue him from the cold metal kennel he's stuck in. He's just as sad, heart broken & lonely as you are & had been waiting to find you, love you & be loved by you...Anyway, think about it. It really helped me heal more than I could ever describe to you in words. Maybe just go visit the shelters and offer to walk a few pups. Just being around them could help even if you're not yet ready to begin a new journey with a new best friend. I found Ramsey (aka: My Bubby/Mr.Bubbles) on Christmas Eve 2017 and holidays have been so wonderful & joyful again ever since that day. ♥️🐾 Edit: also, my heart goes out to you for the loss of your dog, but also your brother and father. I too lost my brother, very suddenly and unexpectedly. Nothing can prepare you for such grief. Only once you've lost a sibling do you realize that that's the person you spent more time with in life, than any other person on earth. Losing my brother created what feels like an immense black hole in my life, like a huge portion is just gone, missing..That's one of the reasons I wish I'd found a dog again sooner than I did. He would've helped me immensely through that time. I'm glad you had your fur buddy to help you throughout your loss. ~ Wishing you the best in your future endeavors & much healing within your heart ❤️🐾

I can see the changes in Leo as your video progress. I adopted a sled dog that had been tethered to a dog house most of his life teeth were ground down from chewing on rocks and had 30 or more bedsores from the thick fur matted. He was nine. They said he was aggressive but he was never aggressive with me or any of the people that visited us. I think he was so grateful for the love in being able to come inside and be part of the family. Brandon mcmillan is the most gentle, thorough and effective dog i've ever encountered. My friend and i love the dog show and never miss it. So many times we've shed a tear of happiness just seeing a dog's life changed forever when proper training is applied and they go on to live their lives the way they should. I have brandon's book kzbin.infoUgkxK8-VQWpYThx4IC6MiIvb6VS1ebTzzdxq in two formats. Not only the paperback version but also the kindle version to refer to when i don't have the paperback along with me. I have used his methods with my cavalier kc spaniel and turned a non-disciplined furbaby into a companion who has traveled thousands of miles with us across the country. He is a near perfect dog thanks to brandon's methods. I don't get one cent of kickback for recommending brandon but i do it because i love dogs. They deserve to be given a chance. Brandon's mission in life - to rescue dogs and place them in a forever, happy home - is very dear to my heart. I recommend his methods to anyone who has a dog - young or old. I've seen him take even old dogs and teach them. Brandon was an animal trainer before his current mission. His parents were animal trainers. His methods are the best i've ever found. Your furbaby will thank you for spending the money on this book. Don't hesitate - it is worth every cent.

This just happened with a cat we adopted. He was covered in gray hair, was very skinny/sinewy like older cats sometimes are, and didn’t seem to have much energy to play. We found out after adopting him that it turns out that his coat is just kind of a unique color, and he’s just a really calm little guy. They said our cat was at least 10 + when she was taking home from the pet shelter. But that would mean she was put down at 28 years old human life. At which time she was much older frail stiffer not smelling her food or eating or drinking her water too good. I took out my shoelace from my shoes. I enticed her with it only a little either by moving it slowly in front of her or dangling it up a little I can’t remember exactly how but I remember it didn’t rake much before she turned instantly into this little playful flexible excited kitten. It was a miracle to see her transform in a flash. Soon as I stopped playing her body contorted back into an elderly cat again. Never forgot that.

I have adopted or re-homed Senior Cats as I live in a Townhouse estate in a two-bedroom duplex with a small block of land - I love dogs but don't have enough yard space. The cat that I re-homed from Gumtree back in April 2022, was only two year old, so the story goes however, the Vet Nurse at a local vet clinic said that the cat may be older. The Microchip indicated that her date of birth is 1st May 2016, so Peppa the Tortoise Shell cat is actually 6 year old at time of writing. The vet nurse asked if I wanted to keep the cat and my response was 'yes' as we can't blame the cat for second and third hand information passed on by the humans.

What a reward for giving this pupper a life. He loves his new life and his family. I must say to my brothers and y in Christ, please consider adopting pets that get passed over. If you love animals, you can get a lot of help taking care of them if you just ask. It's always rewarding.

I adopted my Jack Russell from the shelter when she was 10. She had been their for 6 months. She was so depressed when I got her but became a sweetheart when she snapped out of it. She is almost 19 now. She is the light of my life. 🥰🥰

Men can't be mama's sorry, but there's no way you missed that, and you can ignore them being called woman, but you shouldn't go along with it, you are respectful enough by not making a fuzz about it, but to lie to yourself is just silly, there's no mama.

He is such a cutie! Although he appeared to not being a senior he sure acted like it. We have adopted several seniors and that is so rewarding! We got a 15 year old one that also didn’t know toys, playing, dogbeds and he started his second life with us. Started jumping of small stairs outside, running with our other dog, playing and cuddling! So awesome to see a dog getting to be a dog, maybe for the first time. He has been with us for just over a year when he passed away but I am sure it was the best year of his life. ❤🐶

I still miss him terribly but like you I gave him the best years of his life. So thank you for sharing

Thank you guys so much for understanding how amazing an older dog can be. The wife and I just rescued Sarah on Black Friday 2022 for that reason. Our last dog passed approximately a month before after 16 years. We rescued her at 3 months old so it was pretty rough to even think about another. Sarah is a bullie breed and approximately 6ish from what the shelter told us. Sarah has turned out to be an amazing dog by leaps and bounds but just had bad start in life. Sarah will live her best life from here on out I can assure you. This video is a tearjerker to say the least. Thank you so much for a great video.

Older dogs are worthless as pets, only good for Korean meals. If you're going to adopt a pet and form a relationship with it, make sure you do so with an animal that's only days old, not years. The only thing worse than old rescue animals are the white women who adopt them and won't shut up about it while ordering their vegan burritos at Chipotle.

@@PointsofData yeah but when they decided to take him on they were prepared and opened up for a senior. That is the part of him (and lots others) so many people skipped over. It's really great both these dogs got love from pawrents who have comfortable homes for them.

Funny how much more serious the term "rescue dog" is for some dogs. My dog is a rescue dog, but she was rescued young, and never suffered that kind of neglect and hopelessness. This story both breaks my heart and melts it. I'm so glad you found him. He's adorable! ❤❤❤
