Congratulations on everything you got going on 💯🙏🏿 I wish I would’ve took full advantage of Job Corps when I was there 2-4 years ago. This will be a little lengthy… But here are some tips I would advise you on to maximize your JC experience. Always stay focused on your goals, avoid drama, don’t leave your lockers open or things laying around because you don’t know anybody there, go for the GED over the JC HSD, make sure you get your drivers license , have money saved up so you can buy snacks and real food instead of the shit you’ll consume at the corps, don’t leave your clothes unattended in the laundry, don’t let people you don’t know borrow anything, bring at least 2 extra phone chargers, don’t bring your whole wardrobe of course but pack as if you’ll be wearing a different fit everyday, if possible get a job while there so you can save up to get your own place and/or car by the time you leave JC. I finally would like to add that if you’re going to JC in NY, u should AVOID South Bronx Job Corps and go to JC in upstate NY. Or go to another state such as NJ,CT, or PA.
