A Godly woman should affirm the congregational order implied in Jesus’s selection of a dozen men and mirrored in apostolic policy (uniform throughout the New Testament) of appointing godly men, and not women, to the position of pastoral teachers-and-overseers-which leads us back to 1 Timothy 2:12. : “I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.” So if we believe the bible is without error , how can we accept certain bible verses and not take others. We can't nitpick to choose only certain things in the Bible to suit ourselves and please orhers. Correction needed in the church today . Praying for repentance and obedience to God's word .

1 Timothy 2:11-12, Paul offers pastoral advice to a young leader Timothy in Ephesus. While Paul’s instruction for women to “learn in quietness” could seem restrictive, it is notable that he encouraged women to learn, which was unusual for the time. This interpretation suggests that men and women have distinct roles in the church, with leadership and teaching roles reserved for men. Others argue that Paul’s prohibition was addressing a specific issue in Ephesus, where false teachings may have been spread by untrained women, and was not intended as a universal rule.

I'm from the Presbyterian Church in Shillong, Meghalaya. We don't have women deacons in our churches and as a woman I'm not in favour of women deacons. God has ordained different roles for women and men in church. Personally, I feel having women pastors or deacons in chirches goes against the Bible and I'm against women preaching from the pulpit.

Galatians 3:28 does not talk about roles of a Christian, in context it talks about saving work of Christ. Paul here describes that God sees no color, gender or race to be in kingdom of God. Christ's atonement has no discrimination, it surely doesn't talk about roles and responsibilities of men and women in Church. Many churches cannot accept the very order God set forth through his word but always wanting to justify what the society thinks its appropriate forget to implement the commands of the Lord. Apostle Paul when talking about women leadership above men goes back to Genesis and says( 1 Timothy 2)I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. No one makes distinction that men is greater or women are of low position but Bible explicitly tells us there are different responsibilities for both men and women which we must adhere to.
@meyuchangkiri2 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing that. Yes, man’s role and woman’s role is not the same. But Galatians 3:28 is definitely a powerful statement about the unity and equality of all believers in Christ, regardless of their background, social status, or gender. It’s a declaration of the new identity that Christians receive through faith.

@@meyuchangkiri Well, that’s absolutely true to say that everyone can serve in many ways since we aren’t bound by any legal obligation. A person outside of one particular Church can serve God but here we are talking about the order of the church, it’s not that man has better spirituality than women. We aren’t talking about our worth in here, it is the order in which church is to function. Well, we must differentiate the two terminology carefully, Christ, Holy Spirit and God the father are also the same and are in perfect Harmony but they have different roles.

The world is a treacherous place to live in. Men are more capable physically mentally and emotionally to be out and face the world outside. He however cannot fight the battle at home which is to care and nurture his offspring. This is where women come in. Women are more capable of giving care and education to offspring. This is basic family functionality. If this is breached there are often problems which are not completely unsolvable but still a difficult one to come around. So too goes the leadership in the church. The leadership is to lead. Which means to go out, explore, face and fight challenges. Which is a man's role traditionally. Women again here can shine better to educate the kids in the church and let them grow in the knowledge of Christ which is no less than what the men do. You can have a church with all men deacons and the church will still stand. Yet to see a all women Deacon church and find out what that will look like

According to my understanding it is very clearly that right from the book of Genesis God created men and women in his own image no different but the different is only in gender he ordained them both for to serve each other, man could not live without woman and woman without man from this perspective we came to know that infront of God both men and women are equal, men only differentiate among themselves

Since Liberalism the main foundation and idealogue of Serampore University, the entire system have succumbed to the Feminist and LGBTQ ideology. Thus the Feminist theology from the Latin America and the LGBTQ movement from the western countries was easily embrace by 90% of the graduates from Serampore University. Now, since we are talking about the existing popular practices in our Naga Churches today and especially among the Aos. The Majoritarian law makers in our churches are from this Throng. I'm not against women's taking the any form of leadership roles in the church. Back to the bible: Why God created Adam first but Eve was created from the side rib of Adam. Why God the Father is the head of the trion Godhead. Why Paul strongly mentioned; Husband the Head of the family. Galatians 3:28 talks about equality through Christ Jesus sacrifice in the cross of Calvary. Therefore, for certain administrative role in the Church; we need to segregate it between men and women. The more we read the Bible and study it well and also ask God for more discernment to understand its hidden message and meaning with the guidance of Holy Spirit. We will know the truth.

Thank you Odi, for sharing that. Yes, the more we read and study the Holy Bible, the more insights and truth we discover. This is the beauty and excitement of studying the Holy Bible, which helps us “learn, relearn, and unlearn." Studying Theology, in whichever university, should help the individuals deepen their understanding of core Christian beliefs, while fostering spiritual growth and ethical living. It also provides historical and cultural insights, helping to explain Christianity's influence on society and intellectual thought. Theology equips believers for roles in church leadership, apologetics, and evangelism, allowing them to articulate their faith and engage with other worldviews. Moreover, it encourages critical thinking, fosters ecumenical dialogue, and offers guidance on living a moral, just life in accordance with Christian teachings.
