Saying "suck it up" was insensitive, but she makes a valid point: There comes a certain time where you DO have to deal with it and stop using your tragedies against other people. The sister's victim mentality is toxic, you can't go around your whole life using your miscarriage as a tool to talk down to others and rub it in people's faces who haven't been through the same thing. And on top of it, she does so with the drama of a soap opera actress. I had a still born and a miscarriage too but I would never use those tragic events to win an argument, guilt trip someone or avoid accountability. She clearly has done this repeatedly and was itching to say all of this on television to "expose" the girlfriend. Even right after Dr. Phil told them to be be quiet and conduct themselves as adults, she feels she is exempt from that and literally screams.. I know people grieve differently, but there's a difference between being genuinely sad over a tragedy, and using that tragedy as a tool to gain sympathy and play victim all your life. I don't think she's self aware to realize this yet.. The girlfriend shouldn't have worded it like that but I can see what she was trying to say.

I absolutely agree. And actually I pretty much did the same. Went back to my childhood home for Thanksgiving freshman year of college. I didnt have a car so they picked me up. No food in the house, place was filthy, no celebration. Just arguing, falling back into old dynamics. I felt like I was 10 years old again. In the middle of one argument I said "if you don't stop shouting at me I am going to leave." my bag was already packed. When they continued I said "Goodbye." and I walked out, and proceeded to walk about 6 miles to the next town in the snow and caught a bus home. They called me and tried to sweet talk me into coming back, but I was done. One of the most empowering decisions I ever made.
