Its unbelievable that a midwife would put that kind of blame on a woman who thought her child was going to die. Whether it was the the cause or not, don't say anything until trauma or grief has subsided. Or never say it. Us heavy people know where the blame is. We know what our lifestyle does to ourselves and others.

How'd you do it?
@IndigoRoses7
@IndigoRoses7 2 жыл бұрын
@@syrenasketches6902 I went vegan and gluten free for a few years, which I actually don't recommend veganism long term. But at the time, it made it easier to completely elimate foods that were triggers for me. I was a carb addict, addicted to greasy fried food and sweets..and eating a very restricted diet at the time worked for me. Also, made an everyday effort to exercise..even if it wasnt a concrete workout, just getting up and putting music on and moving my body..my legs, arms, I bought weights, did wall push ups, I'd park at the back of parking lots so I'd have to walk a little farther. I went on half mile walks 3 to 4 days a week, and worked them up to a full mile after I had lost some weight and could move around a little easier. Overall, I recommend daily exercise, of some sort. Everyday. A fully balanced diet that is high in protein, low in carbs. Completely cutting out soda and sugary drinks...I drink canned, unsweetened sparking water now (such as Lacroix and Spindrift) I've programmed myself to enjoy those, just as much as I use to enjoy soda. I drink only a few sips of soda on special occasions or dinners. I limit my sugar to less than 15 to 20g per day, on days I can completely stay away from it, I do. Sugar was a lot of why I was as heavy as I was. Slow weight loss, as much as possible. The faster you lose weight, the more loose skin will be there, so make sure you're taking in adequate calories in tandem with the daily exercise and that exercise will help the loose skin as well. It wasn't easy, and I completely understand that weight loss surgery is the best option for many people!! Whatever is anyone's best option, go for it. Make a plan, wake up in the morning and keep your eyes on your goal. Also, what really helped me...find pictures of body types, people, that you would like to be at that weight. The body type and weight that is what you are aiming for. Keep those pictures on the wall around where you exercise at home, keep a few of those pictures on the refrigerator so you look at them everytime you're reaching in the fridge...almost as a reminder to open that fridge and make good eating choices. Having those pictures of what my goal weight would be..really kept me motivated and inspired. Love yourself throughout your weightloss journey. Embrace your body at all turning points. Before weightloss, during, and after. It's normal to hit bumps in the road. It's normal to slip up, get frustrated, to plateau (where weight loss slows down), give yourself time and keep trying. Your health and happiness is so worth it..to anyone that may read this comment ❤

Such an inspiring story. ❤️. I am proud of you. I am glad I have found way to get over my food addiction by looking for other ways of dealing with my emotions. I went down this path when I was a kid and I got up to 250lbs. Weight loss is possible, but if you have a bad food addiction, it’s not as easy as some people say. I am a healthy weight now, and I’m almost done with my 100LBS weight loss journey. I share my journey over here on my channel. I don’t have lose skin like a lot of people do, thankfully, but I sympathize with people dealing with this. Surgery looks terrifying, but I am sure it makes people feel more comfortable in their bodies after losing the weight.

Kudos to you sweetie! At 70 I had finally lost well over 100lbs. I looked like an alien 👾 from TV. I hate my body and even when I was 20 thin and looking great i still saw a fat person, because your mind is so used to it. Even now I still sees fat person when I look into the mirror. I have a lot of hanging skin some places worse than others; eg. Stomach. I'm not sure at this age I want surgery; It could kill me. But, at your age I give you a lot of respect, and it's safer for you. You are a fighter, cause it's the worst head war you will ever have. And to me we all know that it's a comfort thing. Difference is that you can't avoid eating, but you can live without drugs for example. it's a constant in your face problem. And no one else can understand the struggle unless they have an over eating addiction. Good for you and your family. Helpful support is everything. We are aware of our appearance which is a reminder when maybe it had been out of mind for a brief break and it's bad for it to be pointed out. And no help. It just hurts that's why some do it.

There are people who are extremely heavy (in the 300s) who have children and their babies are just fine. I'm not saying her weight aided the pregnancy but that was rude as hell of that midwife to say. Complications can happen to any mother. That was just unnecessarily traumatic.

I am so happy for her. The determination to change is hard and it takes great determination and major strides in character to make so drastic changes. A person who does this have to dig deep to cross the finish line. hats off to her. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad that Rebecca was able to meet her health goals, but I'm dismayed that everyone blamed her son's health issues on her weight. Many average sized moms have children with medical issues. Poor thing did not need to be saddled with the extra guilt.

It *was* because of her weight, no need to be PC about it. Yeah sure, average healthy sized women have complications sometimes too, but to get pregnant when you're obese and put a developing child through that is selfish af.

I'm so proud of everyone! I 😢 every time I watch these journeys because I also walked it. No one knows how hard that life is and how hard it is to successfully lose the weight and keep it off! I'm 18 years out and 2 children later. I gained quite a bit after my 2nd child, but knew I had to get it back off. I was 340lbs at my highest and got down to 165 lbs. I'm currently 165 after gaining about 50 lbs in 2017! Good luck and enjoy life!
