I came back from serving in the US Army in 1971. I had been badly messed up and was retired out of the Army. I was a 19 year old disabled veteran. My body & mind were a wreck in progress. I could not adapt to civilian life. I bought a back pack and became a hitch hiking nomad crisscrossing the country. I got $208. a month disability pay from the Army every month. I spent a lot of time back packing into national forest, desert & wilderness areas in the western party of America. I did that until 1974. I always felt better and more at peace out in the woods alone.

She still meets random men and sleeps with them and hasn't changed. If you are hiking the PCT to impress other people on mileage and leaving your trail postings, you don't understand the PCT at all. It's bad movie.

Not sure if you know this but the movie is about her hurting others because SHE is hurt by her mom passing away, the goal wasnt for her to stop fucking. Shes single she can sleep with whom she wants.

Through hiking isn't the same anymore. Now it's a narcissistic, look-at-me joke where most people try to hike as fast as they can, with the most minimal amount of gear & more worried about being weight-weenies than self-reflecting. It's not about the struggle & overcoming and finding inner strength anymore. It's not about figuring out where your place in life is like it originally was.

lol nowadays when women cheat, the movie or tv show will be sympathetic. I guess when cheating is so rampant, a lot of people have to find some way to convince themselves they aren't revolting.

I want to see this film now. I walked 200 miles with a friend.... Well it was kind of like this, sometimes we got lifts from one part of the walk to another, we did a bit by canoe and a bit by bike. But so many strangers were so kind to us, we stayed with strangers, were given food, tea, stories.... It was magical. And life changing! You don't often see stories that are just quite simple really. Looks like they did a good job with this.
