she didn't give the attorney a break because she missed court without a valid reason that morning and she was basically admonishing her. She is clearly focusing on her non-appointed clients. They make her more money so that is obviously her priority, instead of her client.

This woman started with "I only drank four beers." As soon as Judge Boyd dug a little deeper, the defendant suddenly remembered trying to get drugs for people to help them with withdrawals, totally harmless. THEN it was revealed she was actually selling drugs. Never mess with Judge Boyd, she will always get to the truth of the matter.

Honestly at this point attorneys should be coaching defendants appearing before Judge Boyd to say they made wrong or bad decisions. Not saying it would help, but it wouldn't make it worse, and Judge Boyd seems to dislike both calling bad choices mistakes and shifting blame onto other people. When people say they hung around bad people (and that's why they commited crimes) she often tells them the other person is probably calling them bad people too.

Trying to get drugs for yourself and/or others is not a mistake.

I think, too, the fact that she completed a program, didn't seem to learn anything from it, and was essentially being a part of the overall problem by playing dealer was a part of it. She was already granted access to resources and blew it. She didn't seem fazed by her choices either.

I’ve always loved you for complete honesty. When you brought attention to the deep anticipation of your test results from your bar exam. It made me laugh into tears. We used the library downstairs to use the Fish “computer” access and that was bypassing the dewey decimal system of checking out books with a paper card that was stamped so loud and clear with a return date.

It's their job to defend, not to prosecute the defendants. Behind closed doors they do advise their clients on the best case scenario but in front of the judge, they're obligated by law to follow the wishes of their clients and put on the best defense allowed by law...even when the defendant is of the lowest character and has (allegedly) committed the most heinous crimes.
