Yeah I know what you mean. A while back I was in the FZ of a girl we used to work together and I was her emotional sponge (not proud of it). My wife of 20 years gave me an ultimatum during an argument. She packed her things, and things for the kids. And repeated the ultimatum. I told her I didn't agree or accept her ultimatum, and if she left there would be no coming back. She left, taking my kids. For the girl who has the boyfriend yet is out and about with the "loser" guy, if I were her boyfriend I'd dump her as soon as I saw that video. I have female friends, mostly at work. all of them get treated exactly like my male friends. none of them mind. we are not close friends, but I also don't tell my guy friends my innermost feelings either. and we don't hang out or message outside of work. all of them are people I have had to work with and collaborate with for a decade or more though, and I am not taking any new applications either. that said, I think it is the exception. I think in general once you are an adult, having a platonic female friend that you pal around with is not that necessary. time is precious and this doesn't compete well with other uses of time. of course when at work it is good to be able to take a break and share a joke with someone, so there's that.
