Bronzed coyote statues are a welcome site at Coyote Hills Park in Simi Valley but the real animals are anything but welcome down the street at Kathy Cook’s house.

First off she did the electric fence all wrong, she could have easily concealed it and just ran a live wire 1 inch off her current chain link fence and used the chain link as ground, that is the proper way to set up a predator fence, she set up a livestock fence, no one would have had a clue except the coyotes

Or even just walking from the car to the house? She shouldn't be allowed to kill the animals and she's not trying too. She should be allowed to fence off her property in my opinion. They look like our friendly canines but in reality they're wild animals. They see meat, they take it. They don't know they're cutting into the livelihood of ranchers, they just see meat. If one of my buds never took an initiative to eradicate the coyote problem around his ranch, him and his family would be destitute.

I have seen horizontal roll rails at the top of fence instead of barbed wire work very effectively. To avoid the digging under fence lay 1-2 foot wide slight angled down under ground, they hit the fence digging and stop. [ but the problem is she would be doing that on her neighbors yard side.]

We took their land ..their home. They have nowhere to go. Food sources are depleted. We can't coexist with them as they are smarter and we will continue to suffer losses. Barbed wire is ugly and dangerous . I sure wouldn't like to live next door to those ugly fences. I find that electric fences keep out all sorts of mountain lions, bobcats and coyotes without all those other ugly fences she has and you hardly notice it. This is the way that Game and Fish in our state gets rid of coyotes . They take sponges cut them in 2x2 squares soak them in bacon grease . Then throw them out in the area of coyotes. 3 days later they die. No more problems.
