Just a small suggestion from an old man that is not as strong as he used to be, when starting to drive in the post have Sarah angle the post a lot more as you put on the post driver and you wont have to lift it so high up. Save the back and she can pull the post up and you push it up. Prayers and blessings

I was recently helping my SD brother pound posts. When he went to the lumber yard to order more posts, he saw they had a really nice pounder for $100/day. Totally worth the cost! He and a friend installed close to 2 miles of post in an afternoon and part of the next day. Unfortunately I had to be back to IL so I missed it. PS:. I came home to about 3 doz eggs from my 21 quail. Not bad for our shorter days. (they are in an outside pen)

When I was young I had a Morgan horse that figured out how to grab the gate handle, like you have, and let himself out. The first time he did it he walked into the house!

Your comment that the livestock will ideally only touch the wire once made me remember our old Collie. He was a great herd dog, but I always wandered if he thought it was his job to check the fence to be sure it was working. Every morning and evening after he brought the cows in, he would very carefully touch the fence with his nose and yip. Rarely, if it had been shorted out by weeds he would start barking like crazy. I finally gave up trying to breaking him of it after about a year. It never seemed to have any effects on him (other wise was a smart dog) and if he missed waiting on the back porch when we came out of the house at milking time, we knew had a cow or two out. (of the pasture) He never allowed them to get onto the road.
@devrabiallas12923 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking he would bark like crazy when the fence wouldn't zap him because he knew it wouldn't hold predators away from his herd, I don't think that was a stupid dog I think it was a smart one he just didn't trust you to make sure the fence was on
