How does someone get to a point in life where they do not have any broken bones, neurological issues, paralysis etc - but they just stop using the bathroom and do their hygiene related thing on the bed!!! My grandpa was 96yrs old - had two surgeries on his hip and still refused to use the bedpan - he would walk with assistance and support and use the bathroom to do his business. I'm sorry, I've struggled with weight and weight loss my entire life but I don't understand how someone gets to this point. When I've gotten to a point that daily tasks got harder (I've never gotten to impossible...) or I hit a certain number on the scale that was it, I went on a diet and lost weight. If I quit the diet and gained it back I went back on the diet. I just don't understand how anyone can see the number 300 or more on the scale or be unable to function and still choose to keep eating. I guess it's an addiction like opiates or alcohol but it's certainly sad.

As a Physical Therapist, who knows they had to add a Speciality in Bariatircs is absolutely insane. Also having to transfer someone who is larger in nature is very difficult. When I was in the hospital setting I made patients rehab, as encouraging them to exercise too. And a lot of morbidly obease patients wanted things to be done for them. I again encoyraged them to use stratagies to help them plan and be more independent etc. I am not a small woman, but I will not helo or co-sign on someone placing themselves in harms way

As someone who suffers from an incurable spinal condition that is rapidly taking away my ability to walk - nothing annoys me more than this woman's attitude. Some days i literally feel like i have to starve myself to keep my weight down so it doesn't make my disability worse- but I happily do it so i don't become a burden to those around me. What person wants to be a burden to the people they're supposed to love? The trick is finding something less harmful to occupy your mind so thoughts of food aren't constantly revolving like a Lazy Susan!

They do not have to cook it and resent it to the obese person sitting in bed. Just says NO. I am a home health aide caregiver I make about $19 to $20 an hour plus my phone bill plus mileage but I only work part-time as I have multiple sclerosis myself I won't take clients like this I do companion care. I assist with showers as well moving people around like this and literally destroy your back muscles I refuse to do it. To be honest most aids refuse these days where I live. Besides hurting your muscles most are aggressive, complaining whiner's who demand everyone kiss their butt. I am thoroughly convinced a few actually enjoy getting their butt wiped. Disgusting
