Paula dropped 273 pounds in her first year of weight loss by adopting an all-liquid diet. She also opted to get gastric bypass surgery. The star has since continued with her counselling and employed a personal trainer to help her shed even more pounds.

Not being a softie. Just depends on how heavy the person is. Just being that massive takes a lot of energy and burns lots of calories, so the heavier people getting closer to 1000 pounds can lose closer to 40 pounds a month just by not constant binge eating.

@@hikerclarence7092incorrect assumption that many normal weight people have. Insulin Resistance can severly mess up a person metabolism. Example i was 180kg. And had metabolism of aprox 1000 calories. I went Keto, my metabolism rose up to aprox 2500 calories/day. I have now lost over 80kg. Without any struggles at all. Thats how extremly damaging the Insulin Resistance and carbs can have on the metabolism. And even excersising 5jrs/day will not help much at all. When body is in chronic stress mode... excersises will only lead to musclewasting and reduced metabolism. It seldom gives any type of lasting weight loss. With that said... surgery is the last option anyone should take. Try keto first. Keto will bypass the big Insulin Resistance and carb problem.

Its because a lot of them think its a magic fix. That theyre automatically just gonna lose the weight without changing their lifestyle. I had wls almost three years ago, and I lost a bunch of weight and am maintaining. I changed my diet, exercised, etc. if they actually put the work in, they can lose the weight. It takes a little bit to form a habit, but once you get in the habit of eating better, you will want to eat better every day.

@@Hereford1642its easy. Laymen have an incorrect misconception of CICO. But its the machinery(body with its hormonetriggers,enzymes,organs,etc) in between the CI and the CO, that is nost impirtant. Why do you think Yoyo-diets always fail?;) Clue for highest successrate is to solve/bypass the Insulin Resistance. So go low carb, or ideally go Keto. Millions have solved their obesity with keto. Me included. Can not recommend keto strongly enough. But do need to do a lot of prepping and research before starts. Example how to prevent the keto flu, and how to make dinners keto friendly. Etc etc etc. But oboy is it FUN when you get a hang on it. Much more energy. And the weight finnaly just drops off as if there never was a problem. Spent over 20 years with obesity. Nothing worked. Byt keto was a gamechanger for me and millions of people. So i would recommend any obese people to look into keto.

I know what she is going through, and it’s hard! I wasn’t getting any skinnier, and when I found out that high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, and diabetes ran high on both my mom and my dad’s side for obese people, I had to do something. I read that the gastric sleeve helps with that, and I told my husband, I need the surgery. Just like this beautiful lady, I too want to be here for my family. The gastric sleeve is different from the gastric bypass surgery. The sleeve, is where 80% of the stomach is permanently removed. I had this surgery done almost 4 months ago, and I have already lost 60 pounds. I went from 225 down to 165. My doctor said, that I’m his first patient that is dropping the weight so quickly. This surgery was a lifesaver, and it brought back my self esteem, I’m a lot more happier, and exercising is a lot more fun! It’s honestly the most difficult surgery to recover from, but it’s so worth it! So, I pray she’s able to get the surgery ❤️

From the outside looking in. It’s very easy to judge from the outside looking in. I think a lot of folks would benefit at this size to water aerobics. If I was a gym manager or an owner their best advertisement would be to have a daycare /maybe like a jungle gym and like those net gyms where kids can have fun in a safe environment and play while their parent or parent can work out and have a class. I’d give them a year membership for free for them and their kids. And then I’d give them discounted after that. And I’d offer at the gym a health plan and a nutritionist as well and access to food/meal plan. And give that to the parent and kids so that way they can really truly benefit and stay as healthy as possible. Benefits the parent their health the kids their health and the gym etc it helps all the way around.

I’m glad that she’s finally losing weight. But, it frustrates me to my core when these people are filmed eating a mountainous amount of food. Then they get to Dr. Now’s and say, “I don’t understand how I gained 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve been working so hard”…….🤦🏻‍♀️

"Sometimes the patients with the right answers have the hardest time losing weight." I've noticed that on this show. Maybe that's because they believe they know what to do (but haven't done it yet) and thus aren't open to what Dr. Now is saying?

In almost every case on this show "trying" and "working really hard" means they haven't been following the diet. 17lbs isn't much for someone that big, but could you imagine purposefully trying to gain that much in two months? You'd have to literally eat constantly. That's not an easy thing to do and that fast food has got to cost a ton more than regular grocery items. I bet she's on public benefits (because she definitely isn't working), which means your tax dollars are being ingested by people like her.

The reason why she gained 17 pounds is because she ate hamburgers and hotdogs. she needs to eat a more healthier food

I don't understand WHY people keep saying that they cannot eat healthy food when they are on the move! You buy a banana, an apple, and a pretzel or something, plus a small chocolate milk. The key word being "one" and "small". For the next meal, you do that again. If a normal supermarket won't sell you a single banana, go to a health food store. But don't just stuff yourself to the brim with hamburgers and all that stuff.

The psychological denial of these folks is truly impressive!!! The ability of family to enable is always impressive as well. None of this happens in a bubble. The best example of her denial (well, in this video) was at the end when she said “It’s definitely a food disorder.” It’s the food’s fault. Dr. Now said “Eating disorder.” She managed to remove herself from having responsibility in an instant. Hope for the best for her.

There ISN'T ANY EXCUSE for this predicament. Counseling and maybe hypnosis to find out how and where this happened. Genetics can play a huge part, family and friends enablers. Complete physical first, then psychology profile. THEN she's gonna need skin removal surgery, skin does NOT snap back. Start walking and go to the gym when no one else is there.

I mean good on her for trying. It's not really fair to be too judgemental when we don't know 100% what she's going through. However, I don't understand why people think that if they move to a different place they will be more successful. It's like - if you can't do it here, what's going to be different THERE? Just do it, for goodness' sake. I know people like this and it's not just eating behavior.

The gief thing i can ID with. When my dad was dying and after he was actually gone, liqour was my version of these peoples overeating. Im on and off as far as how i do with that now. Ive been chubby for a lot of the last few years, and when im working on my fitness, doing well with my drinking is way easier for me. Good thing about doing an honestly hard workout is you can eat what you like in moderation. I love old fashioned donuts, and i still eat them sometimes but as long as i dont take these aweful 10 day workout breaks, i dont get fat from it. Not sure if these ppl dont own scales or just voluntarily avoid getting on them

You have to eat an EXTRA 3500 calories to gain 1 pound, on top of the calories you need to eat just to maintain your weight. And for people that size, they already need to be eating a lot just to maintain because their basal metabolic rate is very high. So, gaining for her involves eating upwards of 6-7000 calories a day, minimum. That’s A LOT of food, not just a single splurge or two.
@Allahis_one1
@Allahis_one1 4 ай бұрын
@@kristy1653 I disagree. They are put on really strict diets and therefore they lose weight quickly. That also means that they can gain that weight back quicker than they lost it. If I eat more than usual and don't workout to burn that off, I wake up with half a pound or a full pound gained, sometimes more.

It usually STARTS with overeating. But then the Insulin Resistance keep the weight on. And reduces the efficient metabolism. A lot of obese people do try to loose weight.but as long as they eat a standard high carb diet, when have Insulin Resistance... it is doomed. And the weight will just increase and increase. Regardless of "overeating". My efficient metabolism even went to under 1000 calories/day. And i am a 1,8m Man. After i switched to Keto. My metabolism jumped up to 2500/day. My obese fatweight fell off easily. Lost 80kg. Now i try to avoid loosing the last remaining fat too fast. Because i do not want too loose too much too fast.

There is a ton of delusion to unpack here. Lack of vitamin D? Go outside and walk around in the sun, or eat vitamin rich whole organic foods every single day. There are plenty of foods to support thyroid function as well. Ever heard of Brazil nuts? Genetic predisposition? Her kids sure appear to be normal sizes and probably eat normal portions and are most likely active. Everyone goes thru torment and tragedy. Not everyone over eats. No one is genetically predisposed to lack discipline and mental toughness. Mindset is a CHOICE.
