Doesn't matter the job. You NEVER say the Q word at work! Same for the S word. If it's Q or S at work, you keep your mouth shut until the end of your shift. You can talk about when you're home!

I'm man enough to admit that the last time I saw a stage production I did in fact yell Macbeth in the theater. Mom tried to ground me but she didn't have custody so she couldn't legally

Wow..that's just an a hole move...I hope your happy to know that you'd need to be an ACTOR in the PRODUCTION for the superstition. I also hope you know you're not a man, but a boy for being so petty because some actors will literally start crying from this word if it's not the actual play itself because although it may not actually be bad luck, the stress that comes from someone saying it is a self sustaining prophecy. Even if it wasent real they make it real because it puts them on edge and typically will cause SOMETHING even something minor to go wrong and it just isn't fun... dont be an a hole..your mother was right to try and ground you.
