@@sbffsbrarbrr In Illinois, it is now a felony to commit animal cruelty. Thanks for a wonderful states attorney. He was very active an animal rights and a very vocal spokesperson from the rescue that I was fostering with at the time. We had a very cruel case come in that highlighted, the need for stronger penalties for animal cruelty. Thanks to the new law, this person that abused an animal absolutely horribly is now serving a significant amount of jail time. And I’m hoping he’s getting treated like pedophiles do in prison. It would be justified if someone shoved him while in jail. Fortunately, the dog did eventually recover physically but needed a lot of psychological care and special foster placement, where he’ll live out the remainder of his life there. I had to take a fostering break because of health issues and just resumed fostering again this year. And foster failed for the first time. Something I said I’d never do.

In the society we living in it is no surprise!!! Look what our children's have being teach. To be selfish, ungrateful, demanding, to be total idiot, and care only about money no matter the cost. There is no place for compassion in there hearth hey they do not have a hearth! People who abandon animals are known as psychopaths. Also known as sociopaths. A form of mental illness that is almost impossible to treat. They cannot identify with humans or animals and what they are going through. More men have this illness and many psychologists will not attempt to treat them as their mental illness is virtually impossible to treat.

Not sure why she was abandoned.. having a big dog needs mantainance! Poor dog was rescued and enjoys her new puppy life! It's easy to have pets but they need care and love ! Pitts are such incredibly loving doggies. We have had Pitts for 40 years and every one was a perfect doggie. Smart, loving and goofy doggies. They will steal your hart and spot on the couch or bed for sure.

That poor baby looked to be about a #3 on the emaciation scale...yet also looked far too clean to have been a "stray" for the amount of time it would take to get to that point. Barring any medical reasons, her state when found makes me wonder at what kind of home life she must have had not to have been fed regularly. Glad you all came across her. You saved her life!

Been there done that. The dogs I've rescued from the side of the highway had been on their own for quite some time. Nearly all had reverted back to almost a feral state and I had to use traps many times, but I finally got them. Some were like this little girl, almost resigned to the fact that they were going to waste away on the side of a highway. Thanks for the awesome work you do. We're all in this together; rescue angels unite!!
