As a grown man, I share the same life in having a very hairy body. Granted, I don't mind having hair in most regions of my body, but I certainly hate having hair in some other regions where there shouldn't be hair at all. Sometimes, it can be a curse.

It’s totally 💯 okay. I have hirsutism too. I have always been okay with it. Everyone is different. 99.9% of humans have body hair. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. I want to mention I do lazer. But this is my choice. It’s not a requirement. Honestly people should be accepted for who they are & some people are jerks & they suck!!

Not everyone who has male like terminal hair has pcos. I have dealt with a lesser severe version of what she deals with and it is the worst. People have zero clue how hard it is. I dont want to embrace it, I want it gone. Insurance needs to cover laser hair removal for cases like ours. Laser hair removal is a God send. If she has PCOS she will have to go back for touch ups but her hair would respond well with this treatment.

WHY won’t insurance help cover treatment for this?? It’s more common than people think and it does directly affect mental health. I want so badly to get electrolysis but cannot afford to go as often as needed to keep up with it.

I have been living with hirsutism since I was a preteen. I had a mustache & hair arms/legs. But I got hairier & hairier overtime especially with weight gain. Ever since I’ve been doing lazer & lost 140lbs+ the hirsutism has gotten less. If she lost weight it would balance her hormones decrease her androgens. Obesity makes this condition worse. Also society treats hairy women differently than women who don’t have it. I never minded being hairy I just couldn’t stand the stupid & offensive comments about it from men & women. Stupid, ignorant people would ask me if I was a man because when I let it grow it looked like stubble. Unfortunately. I have to shave daily but it’s gotten less noticeable. It’s really not the end of the world.
