He is adorable!!! I took in a stray 3 months ago. I've had stray cats before, but never had one in this bad of condition. Looks so much like Ichy, even has same facial features like the big cheeks, around the same age, dental issues...... only switch the brown fur to grey. The plan was to bring her back to life and find a home for her FAST (before I get attached). The thing I'll never forget was the appreciation she gave when I first fed her. Continuously jumping and head bumping me, everywhere. ☺️ This little skinny, balding, flea infested, raggedy, beat up girl....had a BIG Beautiful Gal hidden under it all. Unfortunately the rancid smelling odor coming from her mouth was rotting teeth. Now she's toothless, but that don't stop her from eating lol....no teeth but cute as ever, and Ichy will be too! She is so much fun, gentle, loving, with a funny quirky personality.....and she wasn't going anywhere but straight into my heart. 💞 Her name is Daisy 🌼 Rescues are the best. 🤗 You done well human! 🙏🏼

I say this because over the years, I’ve seen how easily some people will abandon their cats (or dog, rabbit, Guinea pig, etc) and it just absolutely breaks my heart when people do this. Your boy deserves for the rest of his life to be treated like the king that he is. And I know with you, it’s obvious he’s found his forever home! ❤ All the best to you both 💕

@@anti-ethniccleansing465 The shelter killed the cat you trapped!! How dare you..now you've killed the other cars companion and it's all alone. Shelters kill for space everyday!! Don't you ever take a pet to the pound. Murderer!
@anti-ethniccleansing4652 жыл бұрын
@@texastwister6988 Lol. It was a no-kill shelter, ya goof. I would never bring an animal to a shelter unless it had such a no-kill rule. And I found out that someone who worked there insta-adopted the kitty I brought in. The one that was left on the street was the one that needs to be worried about, and that is NOT my fault. I wasn’t the one to abandon the cats! There would be two dead cats instead of one possibly dead cats if not for my successfully trapping one.

Grace and Ichy: 2 of the most beautiful souls on this earth. I’m so happy you found each other! Blessings to both of you! 🥰😻 This was so heartwarming. I cried sad tears for what Ichy endured before you found him and big happy tears for the wonderful life you two have together now. I will be 80 next month and I have 2 sweet, 8-year-old rescue cats (a brother and sister) who my granddaughter found as strays, hiding under my son’s deck when they were 7-month-old kittens. They have been living with me since then, and have brought me so much love, emotional support, joy and laughter.

Not all humans are humane. Some of us are just pure evil. All of us have the capacity to do wicked things. That is an enduring fact of life. As it says in the Bible: "Man is born in sin and shaped in iniquity". Even when we have a desire to be good and to do good we very often don't follow through. We often end up doing the opposite of what we would like to do. It is in our nature. This aspiration to be good, that remains unfulfilled, and our propensity to do the opposite, is an anomaly that can only be explained by the Christian faith, which also provides the remedy.
@forestdude51682 жыл бұрын
@@davidw.robertson448 not all people are bad by nature, some just become corrupt over the years and no longer have good intentions due to life simply denying their any tries to help and instead gives them nothing but problems in return, but this definetly isnt a case of this, dude shot a cat.
@thebusybee70802 жыл бұрын
@@davidw.robertson448 You are discounting the other faiths. The Christian faith is not the only one. All roads lead to the same place. The other faiths have just as much credibility as yours. Please be respectful of that. It is very arrogant of a person to think that their faith is the only credible one. This is what is causing so much division in America now. The far right Christian conservatives who have made this political.
@davidw.robertson4482 жыл бұрын
@@thebusybee7080 It is not arrogant to speak the truth. No other faith provides the remedy for sin, only the the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ can do that. There are shadows of the truth in other religions, including aboriginal beliefs, known as redemptive analogies, so I do not dismiss them out of hand. However, only the Christian faith has the whole truth so why settle for less? I recommend reading the book "Eternity in their Hearts" by the missionary Don Richardson, if you genuinely seek the truth. As Jesus said: "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me". Either He is a liar or He is the Truth. There is no other way. It seems you do not believe this so you are on the wide road that leads to perdition. One day, in this life or in the Resurrection you will know this and theTruth will set you free.
@thebusybee70802 жыл бұрын
@@davidw.robertson448What you have said and the manner in which you say it - that is exactly what I mean. I have met some pretty awful Christians who follow Christ and I have met some very fine other religion people. There are more and more Christian clergy who are becoming respectful to the other faiths. It infuriates me that some mere mortal like you is telling me that I am on the wide road to perdition. That is arrogance sir. That is what is dividing America into Nazi politics and disrespect for beliefs different from theirs. That is what the various intolerant far right Christian conservatives espouse, as well believing that they can take any means to promote "their" belief - as we saw on Jan 6 when they attacked the Capitol.

The cats who live through the worst things are always the best cats. I mean, all cats are best in their own ways, but I’ve worked at a shelter for eleven years- I’ve seen stories like Ichy’s unfold and it’s amazing to see them so happy and loving even after everything.

This is such a cute story 😻! And for someone to intentionally inflict harm on him is just atrocious. I feel as though cats are misunderstood bc they are not as high maintenance as dogs, but we live in dog culture. People feel like dogs are the best protectors, but cats, literally, protect us as well. Cats control rodent populations, so that we are not running over with disease. They are also know when you are in discomfort and make every effort to soothe their people. They are truly underestimated companions on life's journey! 😺

Let me add this most important of notes... cats purr and dogs can't. That purr is huge and thus far has been proven to benefit humans in numerous ways; reduces blood pressure, heals bones and research is continuing. It's no wonder ancient Egyptians worshipped and, buried themselves with their kitties. Dogs are wonderful but people are beginning to understand that cats are a whole other level of amazing!

He was well-behaved at the VETS, and just chilled there letting them do whatever they wanted. He even once sat on their weighing scales. :D

He is just the sweetest soul! Kidney disease can be somewhat be managed depending on what stage it is. That means watching their diet and feeding them properly plus there are hydration products out there for cats now. I lost my sweet cat in January from renal failure but I had 3 more years than I thought by learning about kidney disease, having it monitored, watching their diet and learning how to give subcutaneous fluids. Sometimes our lives are touched by special souls like Icky and it can be so heart breaking to know you might not have as long as you had hoped with them. Especially when their start to life was so horrible! But sometimes quality is more important than quantity and you are giving him the love and life he deserves now. I wish you the best and embrace every moment you can with him!

It took some time and patience but he is now tame and never leaves my side. It’s like we are soul mates. Your story reminds me of Teddy. I cried when I saw how sick and skinny he was. He has a great life now. I will never leave him until one of us dies. He is a big cat but when I pet him he nurses on a stuffed Teddy bear. Great big healthy boy now sucking on a stuffed bear like a kitten. It’s so sweet. I love your story. Thank you for sharing it.

Even damaged, "feral" cats can recover and learn to trust and even love. But it can take a very long time of letting them adjust.
