But a guy who may make that in the future and doesn't yet might. Uglier women need to play their cards a little smarter and pick guys with potential. Guys who are established and still single are definitely more likely to turn away average woman but also more likely to be gold dug, especially if they have low self esteem and have placed all their self worth on their money. And that is likely the case if they are partly pursuing money just to become more attractive. If you want to be rich and not be played you gotta get your mind and values right. Don't ask how I know :)

Met with the server and explained the situation then gave her $50 bucks for my "my dates" coffee/meal and "NOPED OUT of there". I was driving home when my friend called me "pissed off" at what I did. Noping out in such cases is OK, but the way you did it was not. Step up, and tell your date why you don't think it would work in an honest but respectful way. A lot of valuable messages can be conveyed, if you how to formulate it correctly. Sneaking out and not giving her any feedback on where the chain fell off, was a cowardly move, and your friend was right for calling you out for it. Everyone stubbles a bit through dates -it is an art that needs to be learned, but a requisite for learning is feed back, so you know what to change. Was your "date" wrong for assuming that you would act like an ATC, sure she was, so help her adjust so she can get a more realistic worldview, instead of leaving before things even begun, and leaving everyone confused about what happened, and what was going to happen from there on.

@@jonsteensen7706 There was a time you could bow out gracefully and that would be the end of it. That time has passed. This is the Era of Entitlement when it comes to too many women. If, during the course of the evening, you discovered she had one too many red flags for your taste, then you don't prolong the date and make it clear to her you don't see it going any further. The fact she _OPENED_ with "How much do you make?" tells me everything I need to know about her and there is no reason to waste any more of my time or hers. Trying to have an adult conversation about how you didn't see things progressing would have likely led to unnecessary conflict, based on her initial inquiry. If she needs a teaching moment, that what her friends are for. She needs to already be presentable _before_ she gets to me. First impressions, right?

@@Anotherguy1st I agree that moving out of LA, California would be a good move on her part. The competition in LA is about as bad as it could get for her. She seems to have schooling and if she is actually paying all of the rent on her apt., she has a pretty good job. So, some brains and probably a degree is my guess. She is a 2 or 3. Then add a plus 1 or 2 for the schooling and income ability. A solid 3 or 4 is nothing to sneer at. Her attitude is something that could change over time.....if she is REALLY looking for a long-term relationship. It is likely she would wise up to real life. I spent 5 to 10 years changing one young woman into a quite reasonable partner. She was my pride and joy for about 20 years. It is clear that while the privileges of the patriarchy have been taken from men women still insist that the obligations remain in place.
@wesleyhurd35747 ай бұрын
Exactly!!! EDIT: I wanted to add a little nuance to my reply. I’m not necessarily defending the patriarchy. But I think it is important to remember that the patriarchy created clearly defined gender roles for men and women. (I respect that some people do not identify as either a man or a woman, but that is a separate discussion for another time). When there were clearly defined gender roles it was much easier for people to know what was expected of them and how to behave in society. As the patriarchy is slowly dismantled, both men and women take on a completely different set of roles and responsibilities. This is a very challenging and frustrating process for both men and women. I think women have every right to be treated as an equal to a man in a workplace or educational setting or in politics. I am glad to see that women have made a lot of progress in this regard. But it comes at a price of disrupting cultural norms regarding marriage and romantic relationships. When women primarily kept house and raised children, it made perfect sense to expect that husbands would be the primary wage earner and it was his responsibility to make sure that the wife had everything she wanted, within reason. But times have changed and our society is struggling to adjust to a new normal.

Best satirized over the 1978 Lee Marvin-Michelle Trioloa "palimony" dispute, which Marvin eventually settled for $103K out of his $3M net worth at the time, on the basis that he would have run up the equivalent in legal fees and court costs, and even if he prevailed, which was likely, the odds that he'd recover those fees from Triola were nil. The duo of Jane Curtin and Dan Aykroyd, doing their "Point-Counter Point" bit, addresses the issue, and Ms. Curtin opens with the same song and dance about a woman "sacrificing her career" and "supporting her man, emotionally" and such tripe. Dan, as usual, responds by opening with his "Jane, you IGNORANT SLUT!" line, then proceeds to demand that every woman at least admit that "once you're on your backs, the meter's running..." and "let us know the cost up front, so we can figure which two-bit tramp we want to shack up with!"

One of my coworkers almost fell victim to a lady like this He got married to this lady and has his own business contracting and renting out construction equipment and machines After he got divorced tmthe ex wife won a case to get half of his income so he immediately quit and let a friend run his business and now he works at a job that only pays 14 an hour and lives off his savings He made millions over the last 30 something years so he has enough to retire for life I thought he was a genius

Ah my Goodness. My Husband used to make alot of money as a computer programmer before I met him. He was a Chef when I met him. His worth as a Person and as a Man was priceless to me. I had my own money working in Healthcare and I now am the main earner as He stays home to look after our Daughter with Special Needs. He is a wonderful Man. I Thank God everyday for him. We are different cultures but we work so well as a team. He is German and I am Irish.

Congrats. You understand priorities in life which leads to blessing. Been married to my soul mate for 33 years. Still in love with her. I’m happy for you both!

good for you, Olivia. Love trumps money.

She is not very smart. The "you need to make 3 times your rent" is already to take into account other costs of living. She is adding those other costs a second time on top of your "demanded by her" wage...

Who would sleep with her in the first place? Horrific.

The only thing she left out was child support and alimony.

As a guy in his 50s, I have gotten to the point that if a woman mentions money on the first date, there will not be a second date. Whatever money I have and earn is just my business. I wasn't put on this earth to fund anyone else's lifestyle, but my own. Women want to be equal but they do not want the equal responsibility of life.

When I first saw her I thought we were watching Beowulf. But on second thoughts no, Grendel has more redeeming qualities.

I once heard someone refer to a pretty woman with a toxic personality as "ugly on the inside".

I'm sure she also expects to never be asked "What do you bring to the table?"

Yeah, she’s putting a price tag on the privilege of a man sleeping with her, while simultaneously explaining why she’s probably never going to find a mate. Good luck to her, but I definitely would not date her, no matter how much money I make or have. Thanks Emily!😃❤

She clearly not worth $200,000. She not worth $2. She only wants an ATM machine.

I have this! She needs to redo her economics on the following basis: 1. No kids, 2. single room apparment, 3. Allowance for cat food + litter. Boom! Problem solved.

Aside from her personality, attitude, looks and lifestyle choices the question still remains - how can a single person have a sustainable life in LA AND plan a family?
@grantjchristie7 ай бұрын
@@jcrndaAh yes... the answer? She is looking for an Affluent Thriving Man (ATM)... as a guy you learn pretty quickly, your choices have consequences and you are the one to wear them. Her life choices have led her to a place without money, status, or income to sustain what she wants. So... as a guy, the answer is to change your situation or work harder and earn more.... simple man stuff. The truly disturbing thing about how many woman solve this problem... is they insert an ATM in to their life, problem solved... until the ATM breaks down.

@@grantjchristie I used to know a woman (Orange County), whose ATM was about to retire plus he was diagnosed with cancer. She was terrified by the perspective that her ATM would stay home 24/7 all year long and someone would have to take care of him. She decided to crack it open and grab half of everything. She was pissed he wouldn't just die and leave all 100% to her!

She probably makes good money doing a job that will vanish in less than 5 years due to AI. So by then she won't be living in LA, more like an Alabama trailer park, begging for attention from a lonely toothless guy in a 30 year old pickup.

To me this is toxic femininity! Or toxic feminism. I have no doubt she’d be look into divorce very quickly and getting 50% of any man’s money, property and child support! No way ABSOLUTELY NO WAY WOULD I EVEN THINK OF SOMEONE LIKE HER! It’s like the old joke - I’m taking my first step towards getting a divorce. I’m getting married!

My last girlfriend made almost twice as much as I did at the time but still felt like she was entitled to my money. Its one of the top reasons I walked away from her.
