@wood wood Yikes. ... Where to start wood wood? 1) That was sarcasm, as much as the grass is green and the sky blue. 2) I hate that take. 3. Where's your proof on that? That statement "burden of proof"gets thrown out a lot, I can take blanket statements that I personally believe in at face value (white women who are missing victims get searched on the news more readily and investigated more often as cold cases) BECAUSE I personally believe it on a bias, but i'm not trying to push that belief insanely on a youtube comment. 4) Statement was made a year ago. Know what that means? You're probably coming from it emotionally to start with not acknowledging it was sarcasm and that I actually believe she's guilty--thanks for killing the joke.
@Greatsharkbite2 жыл бұрын
@wood wood Yikes.. that statement was as low-brow and as basic as I expected. Once again-- where's your 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳. You stated a series of opinions, this is why people don't take these types of arguments seriously. Also cops use different interrogation techniques to get information from suspects. There are people on video on youtube treated very nicely, then arrested the very next time. Ever hear of good cop/bad cop? Its a real thing. But as this point I just think you're trolling bro. Also LOL at "always" being up for parole with a reduced sentenced. Your non-literal statements for a literal argument is ridiculous. Maybe stop watching half episodes of dr phil on your iphone between shifts at burger king and actually read a book.

At Pollepel Island, the river is almost 2 miles wide. It's tidal, so if the tide was going out, there would have been a strong current, so you couldn't simply swim across. There's no convenient spot to put in on the east bank, so they had likely put in at Plum Point Park on the west bank (although I don't know for sure). Illegal kayak tours to the island sometimes leave from there. Also, it's illegal to visit the island other than as part of an approved tour group. Edit - Yes, they were headed for Plum Point.

Under law, you can't charge a person with the same crime twice. She pled guilty to negligent manslaughter (but not to murder). She got the maximum sentence for that (4 years) and got out on parole after 2 years. The only reason why the prosecution would've taken that plea deal is because they must've felt that there was a high likelihood that she's gonna walk free on the murder charge. They couldn't have charged her with negligent manslaughter after she'd walk free of the charge for murder, that'd have been charging her for the same crime twice.

Here's what I said on part 2 and I'll say it here. "So heresay, drunkenly trying to forget for a little while, and a life insurance policy, and feeling relieved when someone died? My abuser died and I felt like that! I didn't kill them! I also felt like I missed them. I loved my grandmother dearly but when someone who is hurting you like that dies- you feel relieved they can't anymore! I actually fought because someone wrote that meant I was HAPPY she died but that's not it either. She died of natural causes, the way her daughter didn't get to. And her reaction internally is even natural and normal. They literally locked her in a room and lead her to a guilt ridden conclusion. I used to say "I killed my dad", but it felt like I did because he died protecting me. Sometimes it still feels that way. It's called survivors guilt and it's possible to both feel like that and be relieved. Once you sort through the feelings. That can take a bit though. First you have to come to terms with events- which they didn't even let her do. I want my ex husband to jump off a fucking cliff but that doesn't mean I'll push him! That doesn't mean I'll tell him that either tho so... That isn't a confession of anything. And it's after an inhumane number of hours. You'd be surprised the ill worded things people will say at that point of sleep depravity or isolation. And she spent most of it isolated and frazzled after boughts between isolation and interrogation. This isn't right." She didn't "admit" to anything but that she was relieved he was dead. She never does anything but deny she did anything to cause his death.

Trust me, if there was a shred of evidence that would stand the scrutiny of a trial and convince a jury beyond a reasonable doubt, they wouldn't have offered her this deal. I have researched this case to the best of my ability. This man had been in that lake many times because he spent endless amounts of time on that island he loved so much. He knew the risks going into that water during that time and season. He was aware of the weather and the limitations of that specific type of kayak. There is solid evidence that he was aware that the plug on top of kayak was not in place. Legitimate legal on camera studies prove the unplugged hole could not have contributed to water leakage even during the chaotic storm. He was aware of all of that, and still he chose not to wear a life jacket ! I don't believe she would have survived if she had tried to go out into the freezing turbulent water to rescue him. Regarding her behavior I myself have gotten down on the floor during periods of overwhelming panic and emotional agony for a good twenty minutes of yoga myself. If she had reacted the same way after losing a child to accidental drowning (and despite lack of evidence) I might be more suspicious. Family and police did not like her attitude, her disposition or her fanciful hopscotch ditty. Factually and intuitively I think and feel that she is not responsible for his death. Innocent despite her obviously coerced elusive recanted confession.

Not sure if anyone here has ever seen a kayak plug, but its on the TOP of the kayak. There is big pieces of foam in both ends, so even if it does take on water from the top (waves etc) it doesn't matter if the plug is in it or not. The plug is made to drain water out of it by standing it on one end up against a tree or wall. This girl is a weirdo and some stuff obviously went down that day but how she single handedly and successfully caused a grown man to drown while kayaking is beyond my comprehension
@P.B.Theriver4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I owned the same model kayak with the drain plug on the top. I lost the plug and continued to use the kayak with absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. How does anybody not notice the enormous amount of water that enters the gigantic cockpit hole? lol, this is so crazy!!!!! Somebody took advantage of the foreign girl from Latvia. They saw a perfect opportunity to get her inheritance so they scared her into a false confession. Vince died because the waves filled his kayak from the cockpit area and he capsized into frigid water which led to hypothermia and then he drowned. I don't believe she was able to get to him during the high winds and strong current. Vince should have been wearing a life vest.
