I know times were so different in 1955, but it is so appalling and dispicable that Carolyn Bryant was never charged in any way for what she done to Emmet Hill. Im suprised that no one tried to assasinate her in retaliation. The other day I watched the movie "Till" about Emmet's life and death, and I was so angry that I wanted to rip Carolyn Bryant through the TV. I could not imagine the pain and heartbreak that Emmet's mother went through. I cried through the whole movie. It was a time when it was just assumed a black male couldn't be trusted around a white woman. Take a lively and mischievous black male teenager from Chicago and put him in Jim Crow South, I think he was dead within a week of showing up there. In the trial testimony in 1955 the defence made a point of emphasising that he was taller and heavier than her and she was alone in the shop with him when he was making advances towards her and how scared she was. All he probably did was whistle or say "Bye Baby" but at the time that was enough for him to be murdered.
