When the man stated he lost no sleep over the death of Louis Allen that pretty much sums up their feelings. Even today it's so clear. These small towns whether northern or Southern secrets have away of coming out. And I don't blame people for not trusting the fbi people remember the murders of the three Civil rights workers and the reluctance of the fbi to get involved. When the story went world wide only then did they get involved. Mr. Allen's son deserves the truth about his father's death. And the people who are still alive are for a reason.

*If EVERYONE is saying the sheriff played a role in Louis Allen's death or actually killed him on top of the fact that he's unwilling to take a lie detector test further let me know he's GUILTY. It's amazing how the town is still supporting the sheriff's actions all these years later. Do the right thing and give that man family some closure - even if the sheriff is convicted, he's not gonna live much longer.*

What got me was that FBI agent trying to keep a poker face trying to explain why they didn't give Louis Allen witness protection. But then I thought, back then J.Edgar Hoover was running FBI. Even though I was a small child then I heard his name sometimes in adult conversations, and nothing good was said about him, and how he stayed on MLK neck, like a vendetta. So I knew he wouldn't have signed any order of protection for Louis Allen. He was racist. I was also surprised when I was grown, to see J. Edgar Hoover's name sprawled across the FBI headquarters. I thought with all those statues taken down, of racist generals, they were still glorifying his name. Well, that's them. But when this FBI women got to where she was asked what they did next with Louis Allen confidential info. She kept the poker face, but her eyes got huge like she hoped what she was about to say would clear them. As soon as she said they turned it over to local police, I knew they had signed his death warrant, then. They knew every officer in Mississippi, back then was racist, so she can dismiss me with the clueless look.

I work at a nursing home. One of the elderly patients I worked with often, we loved to chat. He was African American. He was such a positive person. He told me he was born in Mississippi. I did the math in my head and realized the era he was living in and I said…I can’t imagine living there during those times. He knew what I meant and said somehow with no bitterness in his voice, that one day some white men with rifles showed up at their door and said to his mom, we hear you’ve been sending your children to school. I don’t remember the exact exchange after that but it ended with his mom threatening THEM with a gun (?) and it scared them off somehow, but he said after that incident is when they knew they had to move up north and so they did.

They know what their doing when they do stuff like that. It's called muddying the water, making it difficult for REAL law enforcement to bring their buddies to justice. How can you not know things would get worse if you tell the perpetrators who told on them? It was intentionally done to let them know they needed to permanently silence the victims. That only works for awhile cause here we are decades later hearing about it and you know who is going to pay hard prices for their crimes? Their descendants.

@@endernight1695 I'm a 53 yr old raised in the deep south. Greed, power, conceit, envy, jealousy, and racist theology cannot be legislated out of a person's belief system. Laws only deal with the results of those characteristics. Every crime is a result of 1or more of those elements. In my opinion, those who hold the deciding vote intentionally perpetuate division among the citizens. This technique creates thousands of useless bureaucratic jobs, elections and voting systems that are meant to make people believe they are involved in the law making process. Again, all of this stems from those character traits I mentioned in the beginning of the paragraph.

"We referred that to local law enforcement authorities"...how can she say that with a straight face?! They basically turned him over to be killed! Poor guy, he tried to do the right thing but the evil in that town was too much.

Eric Shultz, I commend you for standing up to what's right. I'm for justice a Ross the board. Mr. Allen wore a military uniform of the USA and his own government didn't protect him, family and his livelihood to the so called American dream. The war was on the American grounds for black racial injustice. I wish there would be MORE Caucasian Folks doing and saying Justice for Mr.Allen and the numerous others so forgotten. Long live the TRUTH.

Louis Allen’s son is still alive, if that doesn’t show the emphasis on how not long ago this was I don’t know what will.

I did, too. I decided to stop vid at 1:21. I cannot watch further. Although we (Black/African Americans) are not a monolith, yet when we watch, read, hear of these stories, it's as if we share one heart, and it hurts. ALOT.
