Ever in my life, this is the only independent day speech that holds a Pan African content. I m a Liberian. Never have I ever heard a Liberian orator speech with a pan African content. It is always smooth landing for the West and America. With lots of praises showered on them. The only two Liberian leaders I have heard questioning about anything West were Taylor and Tolbert and the second half of Samuel Doe regime: 1986 to 1990. To all Liberian, we are African first and foremost. We saw it during our war. It was our brothers West African who came and died in Liberia. Our flag, national athem, and court of arm need to be changed to reflect us. Our capital city name needs to be changed. Many of our geographical land marks: rivers, mountains, etc names need to change to honor our native kings and queens of past. She is the lady "Ibrahim Traore" of Liberia. A wave of Panafricanist views are sweeping across Africa. Let not Liberia take a back seat and become a problem child like the Monrovia Group in the 1960s. They (Tubman and his friends) were the cause the African Unuty dream failed.
