You know, I always contextualized Christ bestowing priesthood to His male apostles because He knew that women priests would have been dismissed and Christ’s message probably wouldn’t have been able to make the initial reach it did. Does that mean it should always be that way? That’s something you guys have to reach. But, I don’t know much. I accept things as they are. Because the point is to participate in the Body of Christ and continue on my journey in establishing a stronger relationship with Christ. God bless, fathers. Great video as always

The only Orthodox Church that has continued the role/order of Deaconesses is the Coptic Orthodox Church. Why have the others, the eastern Orthodox, discontinued this?

There has always been a functional subordination; God the Father, God the Son (Who was obedient in His incarnation to God the Father), man the head of the woman, then women. It's not demeaning or that women are less, it's that authority in the Body of Christ belongs to men. We shouldn't complain or try, like in Roman Catholicism or the Anglicans, to usurp that spiritual authority given BY GOD to men. Period!

Amen Abouna. It is about our Lord Jesus Christ. I have a view as well and it's not about identity but our roles in life. A role is how we function. A role has responsibilities and we function when we perform these responsibilities. Our roles have being set, very wisely according to the way God established them. Motherhood is a role and it is to be the heart of the family. She's a nurturer and she nurtures a personality especially in the church to be Christ like. Yes that's it, the church is a bride; a woman; one that heals and nurtures. A man has vision. He sees where he wants to go. His vision is his reason. Our Lord Jesus Christ has set His vision of salvation, for us to return to Him as His bride with all the saints (jewelry)on the wedding dress as in Revelation. It is totally about roles. Id like to add about motherhood. A son could steal from her ten times but she won't call him a thief because that would define him and he doesn't change. Instead, she sees in his eyes the goodness of the baby he was and her heart talks to that goodness and he feels accepted once again and starts his journey of correcting his relationship. Motherhood is what is being damaged in the world today by selfishness or egotism if you want to call it that. We venerate Saint Mary and for very good reason. She is a symbol of motherhood; one of wisdom and understanding her role. Politics makes a church a male because politics has a vision concerning the world.
