@notshardain2 жыл бұрын
@@grantwithersits not that women are only attractive to whomever is "above" them, it's that women were not considered people. Like this is societal level mistreatment of women, you can't say that women have had a choice or are the definers of the system when men have placed them as "lesser" and second class citizens. Women weren't allowed to vote, have careers, be involved in politics for the longest time and you are seriously going to blame them still for this bs?
@grantwithers2 жыл бұрын
Yes I understand those things, but you seem to be going off on random directions. Here we're talking about respect, as in pretty much everyday ho hum respect, not the big ol giganto being considered people and "societal mistreatment" and women being considered lesser etc. types of respect. Which forms are mostly sorted out these days, if not overly sorted out in favor of women being socially considered god's gift to the planet (with the sole exception being top tier men). Although frankly considering women lesser (or even faking such) does make it easier to keep their attraction as it literally sparks the perception in their minds that magically the man must be valuable if he considers her beneath him. This being because in her mind why else would he not behave as the ordinary simp dude and put her on a pedastal for her being pretty/attractive etc. (There can be no other explanation! He couldn't just be faking it! Why would he fake it and risk losing her attention??!!?

whats funny is that women are actually more biologically suited to be leaders, and this is true in MOST species when maIes are the head of the group, whether it be in chimps or lions or whatever, this does not mean they are responsible to LEAD the group, it just means 1 thing: They get the most mates. They have tons of seggs, but they do not carry the responsibility of the rest of the group Mostly bc they're animals and they dont have a sense of responsibility, EXCEPT for mothers. Mothers have highly conserved innate characteristics and genes that have evolved to make them proper leaders of their kids. Motherhood is the only form of leadership that has ever been biologically corroborated. As humans, we have sentience and the ability to change and learn, so anyone can be a good leader if they train themselves to be. But if ur looking for which gender is more biologically equipped to be leaders? It is objectively women.

And it was a lovely, very affirming conversation... and listening to these "high-value males" complain about women not feeling the need to get married anymore just... gentlemen, you are many things, but if I had to rank your value against other men, it is not high.

@@llywelyngruffydd8474 which "general statistical picture" are you referring to? It's simple historical fact that in many places and circumstances women weren't able to inherit, do their own banking, or make major purchases on their own behalf, and were literally societally prevented from having safety and security unless they married. Same with any agency in politics, the notion that a woman's involvement in politics must be filtered through her husband was so firmly believed that one of the main arguments against women's suffrage was that it would amount to two votes for married men (completely forgetting that these are two distinct individuals that might not agree on every single politician and ballot initiative). Granted, there is still some external pressure, but it's gotten a LOT better, and the less external pressure there is, the more everyone can trust that if they do wind up with someone, it's because that person chose them, pure and simple.

These guys really still believe that marriage should be the most important thing in a woman’s life, and don’t realize that most women don’t feel that way anymore because you can legally have your own bank account and house/car title now without a man. There is no lethal systemic oppression forcing you to desperately search for a man to tie yourself to so you can access basic rights. Like yeah, women used to worry about marriage like their life depended on it because it really did-You can’t exist with any safety or stability if you can’t safely build wealth and don’t even legally own your own clothes. Your life really couldn’t begin until someone declared you legally allowed to have property. Dudes really think it’s some sort of revelation to call us “unmarriageable” when that’s literally the point-They need to catch up with the rest of the class and realize there is no value in giving up your freedom, energy, and resources to support someone who views you as an object, when you could have the whole bed to yourself, get a really nice vibrator, and only be responsible for your own emotions and problems. Yeah, I’m unmarriageable-I’m independently stable and can’t be coerced into oppressive power dynamics anymore. Duh. Tell me something I don’t know.

@kshamwhizzle My godmother once said to me: "If you don't find a man, you could also get yourself a nice woman, in your generation that's not unusual." I had never introduced a man to her, so she assumed I had "problems". My cousin's wife also suggested a random waiter in a pizzeria because he had "kind eyes". Literally, after he had taken our order, she said: "Wouldn't he be a good match for you? He has kind eyes." I had never discussed my relationship status or anything private in general with her, but she apparently had to make sure I was - I don't even know what, "taken" probably. Most people just assume that everybody absolutely wants to be in a relationship, and if you are, you're supposed to present your partner to everyone you know. Too much to unpack here.
@danceandmore882 жыл бұрын
@kshamwhizzle Exactly, people project their fears onto others. To them, being in a dysfunctional relationship is better than being single. It also took me a while to understand what I actually want from a relationship, instead of just "making it work". There are so many toxic ideas about relationships, it's hard to figure out what works for you if you didn't have healthy role models. And social pressure doesn't help at all.
@danceandmore882 жыл бұрын
@kshamwhizzle Yes, all these stereotypes about women and men and how dating works, "how to be irresistible", "how to get any man you want", they all contribute to insecurity and unhealthy relationship patterns. What I've learned is that ignoring things that bother you about a person doesn't work long term, you'll start feeling resentful eventually, and prioritizing a relationship over yourself is not a good idea. So being brutally honest with yourself is essential, getting clarity about who you are as a person and being authentic are so important for life in general, and relationships in particular. And in order to get there, we need to unlearn a lot of social conditioning. It's great that nowadays there are smart people on social media who question stereotypes and gender norms and hopefully inspire others to like themselves as they are. However, I think those who propagate simplistic concepts and black-and-white thinking will always have the larger audience.

Marriage is supposed to be a partnership, neither should be devoting themselves to the other's success without that same effort in return. It can be mutually beneficial, we all have strengths and weaknesses, the idea is to find someone who matches yours. But even then, many people just don't need a piece of paper to solidify that relationship, we stay together by choice, even for many years. I don't think these men are fit for relationships in general, the way they view women. Maybe hookup culture and dating apps have changed the game somewhat, but I'd guess people doing that aren't looking for long term anything to begin with. The advice they usually give is meant for that arena, I don't think they know the first thing about a long term equal partnership.

@Tiny E Oh I just mean these men on the podcast and incels, they sound very similar. I've been with a woman I consider my wife for 17 years, though we aren't officially married, we're both weird enough people that we both feel there's no better match. She tells me I'm the smart one and I tell her she's the hot one, but she's pretty smart herself and I look pretty okay, I'm more emotionally communicative but I know how to get through her shell, and she helps me not worry so much and to be happier. And she's definelty the stylish one and the decorator where I'm a better organizer and finder of things. When you find your one, you don't always know right away, we were more on and off in our youth, but we've been very stable for about 15 of those years, and it gives our kids that stability and both of our good sides. There is a benefit to commitment when you start a family, and I think we have that without a piece of paper.

Some men have insecurities about being compared to other men by the women they romance. Typically, the younger a woman is, the less chance she has of having previous partners. There's also the desire to be the leading/ dominant partner rather than an equal partner. Younger means less life experience which in turn makes them easier to manipulate. It's an absolutely icky mentality that proves just how insecure those type of men truly are.

I'm struggling to understand why these kinds of men want to be married at all. Or, more accurately, why they feel entitled to being in a marriage? When it's socially acceptable to cohabitate and to have children without being married, why is it necessary to "lock her down" when having a child and eventually paying child support is already enough of a commitment? What is it that they think a marriage will provide that a long-term relationship cannot without that label? I can't think of a single wholesome reason why these men would want marriage instead of just a great relationship with a woman who is their equal. They can't sustain a relationship because they're misogynistic, controlling, arrogant, and narcissistic. Not because they're so great and women's priorities are screwed up. If what they wanted was stability, monogamy, parenthood, and to build a life with another person whose autonomy is as precious to them as their own, they could have that in a heartbeat. But those are not their motivations. They want a woman to be their arm candy and domestic servant. And they're angry that we have progressed past the days when a woman NEEDED a man, because she didn't have rights to own property or even have her own bank account.
@Uneclipsed2 жыл бұрын
To normal people, marriage is about building a good life together and as a team--whatever that looks like to them. These guys are not thinking about marriage in a normal way. The answer to your question is that they get affirmation from other alpha bros for having sexual ownership and dominance over a hot wife. Their "alpha" status isn’t complete without it. It's sad, really. They blame women for their own lack of self-esteem. No way they're actually interested in a long term arrangement with anyone who isn't a literal statue.

They want a wifey that's financially and emotionally dependent on them, who they order around and use as arm candy and demean to make themselves feel better. They want to feel power over another person they view as lesser. In some countries, marriage still also gives you very direct control of your wife's body and finances. Men can only win in marriage. But for most women, marriage is just another chore and potentially dangerous. I know i could never trust any man enough to sign away part of my rights to one.

When someone says you need to "sacrifice your happiness and your career" in order to find someone to marry, RUN!!! Run for the hills and never look back!!! These dudes just want someone to be dependent on them. They don't want an equal, they want a slave. Edit: "who cares about a woman's orgasm" wtf is this man gay?! He did not just say he doesn't even care if a woman enjoys having sex with him. That's high key predator material there. Why don't you just knock them out while you're at it, mister?

Men who say such thing about woman's orgasm are likely struggling to give any and so definitely not the alpha male they pretend to be in bed. Not to mention how these alpha beta nonsenses are cringy.

They're just trying to divide us and make a profit from gullible young men. I'm a married traditional woman who prioritizes family and children, and I LOVE, adore and respect all my career women, working single mothers, disabled women, and all the beautiful women out there chasing their dreams just like me. The only difference is the stage of life and the dream, but we're all valuable.

Women bring the same things to marriage that men do: love, companionship, sex, a second income, help with chores and cooking, someone to parent children (or animals) with. So what tf are they complaining about? There's nothing unbalanced or unfair about that. And if they want a more traditional women, there ARE women who want to be stay at home moms who won't work and will cook/clean for you. In that case you need to make enough money to support a family on one income, which is a tall order these days but I digress- you'll also probably still need to be likeable, and to have some traditional/religious values yourself. Which isn't gonna work for these dudes because they think men should be able to cheat as much as they want on their wives, and have shitty morals in general. I can guarantee you no traditional religious woman is gonna be ok with that unless she's a child bride from some Mormon cult.
@DimaRakesah2 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. Trad wives generally are not going to marry a non-religious dude who has made it clear he is going to cheat on them and isn't traditional himself. It's like they want to have it both ways. Have a trad wife without being a trad husband.

Yup a traditional wife will have even stricter requirement for her husband. I see a lot of these women - they basically control everything. This is neither good nor bad, I find that some men really do like to be controlled like a child, just like some women like to act like a mom to her partner. I just wish people to be truthful in their expectations.

@@grantwithers You clearly didn't understand what they said. "Of course we don't want to marry, when they have nothing to offer." I'll dumb it down for you seeing as you're having trouble understanding. No self-respecting person would be with a man who expects them to be their maid, sex-slave, to give up their autonomy, to be a possession and to be miserable for the rest of their lives. It may surprise you to hear but normal functioning people want healthy relationships. They don't want a partner who views them as an object they own, as their sex-slave and maid. They don't want a disloyal partner that'll cheat on them and act like it's totally alright for them to do but not for their partner to do the same because they own them. These so-called "Alpha males" aren't looking for a loving relationship between equals, rather they're misogynistic men looking to use marriage as a chain to tie women to them so they can break them down into the slave that'll give them everything without getting anything in return. The behaviour in and of itself is predatory and abusive. Did you know that engagement and marriage is a tactic abusers use to keep their victim tied to them? They propose and the victim thinks they're changing that the relationship will be better but it doesn't get better. It only gets more difficult to escape your abuser. There's a reason no-one with sense wants to date these men none-the-less marry them. They're a ticking time bomb.

I’m a cis dude and I don’t think I’ve ever understood what these podcast bros are going on about. Why would women want to just drop everything and prioritise marriage?? Why marriage ?? What does marriage bring to their lives that is just so amazingly better than anything else they’re working towards?? Is it… having a man?? What’s so amazing about that if that man is one of those guys ?? Literally nothing. So why are they so shocked to hear women don’t value marriage that highly ??? And wtf is a beta male ?? 😭😭😭

This whole "alpha" and "beta" male crap is just something some very insecure and socially inept toxic dudes made up in order to feel better about their shortcomings and inability to have meaningful relationships with women (because they don't respect women but can't seem to figure out that's the reason). If you haven't heard of that stuff you're much better off.

if a woman wants to get married, then it should be one of her priorities in her youth because as she gets older it's going to be harder to get married. the main time frame for that is 20-30, which is a whole decade to find someone. most jobs are 9-5 with weekends off and a certain number of holiday days so that leaves a lot of time to meet someone, set up dates etc. i don't see why a woman can't work on her career while also searching for a partner. many people have more than one goal in life. if she wants to make a good career, then it would be of importance to her and she would work hard to progress in her career. i doubt she would drop it just for marriage. i think she would find a man who she loves and who would support her having a career. marriage isn't absolutely necessary to surviving for a woman like it was a few centuries ago, where she would go from being her dad's property to her new husbands, and when it was way harder for a woman to have her own property. i think that now, where marriage isn't a necessity for a woman, allows her to avoid toxic and abusive relationships. if she's in one but has a job or a family to fall back on, then she's more able to leave abusive partners. for a lot of people, having a person that you love and can spend the rest of your lives together is a great thing. if it's one of those podcast guys, very few things would be great in a marriage with them. they would constantly cheat on her and wouldn't see her as a person but more of a trophy wife. urban dictionary describes a beta male as a man who lacks masculine energy and adopts feminine characteristics, faces problems or confrontations passive-aggressively, and is taken advantage of due to his "nice guy" persona. the example provided is that a beta male apologises to his wife after she cheats on him.

@@grantwithers most women want to work. I don't see how that's so hard to understand? Work is rewarding in many ways. Having an interest u can turn into a career, be respected by ur peers and getting financial security are all rewarding things women desire. If I married a billioner today I'd still want to have a job. And many other women would want the same. Why is that hard to uderstand and why is it cause for debate?
@grantwithers2 жыл бұрын
@@anatosic480 Everyone understands your pseudo religious beliefs about what "most" and "many" women want. They just don't match reality. "most" women just want money and to "live their best life" (the later involves lots and lots of time spent not working in their prime working years) and they work for money and a few lifestyle doohickeys. "most" women will never have a career (about 90% will never have a career, even in the west, similar to men). This goes double if they're not raised propagandized by feminist rhetoric extoling the supposed benefits of a "career" for the 10% or so that will get a career. As to the ones that get a career and are "successful" they will try to marry someone just above them and then "retire"/part time work at around 30-40 once successful in large numbers (obviously if they can get that high status man then they want to just "live their best life" and/or raise their kids directly, which involves not working or not working much). And we all know why the somewhat large numbers of women want the "career" and their "phd" etc. They think it will better their lives and they think they'll get better men (quite a few are just in it for the supposedly better men) and a few odds and ends. Then those better men never materialize for most, because surprise, who they can get to f or marry them doesn't depend on their pdh status, or their income status for around 99% of them although they're falsely told it does. None of this is hard to understand, the only one not "understanding" is you.
