Vogue Williams travels to America, a country with the highest per-capita number of female prisoners in the world - 57 of them currently held under sentence of death. And, on the flip side, 37% of correction officers in the US penal system are women. Vogue experiences life as an inmate at The Miami-Dade Prison Bootcamp in Miami, Florida, home to almost 100 convicted Felons aged 16 - 24 and one of the toughest prison regimes in the US. Except Miami-Dade is different, from Head Warden Lieutenant Green down to the tough-as-tarmac drill sergeants - the boot camp is run almost entirely by women. Vogue also travels to The Lowell Female Correctional Institute in Ocala, Central Florida currently home to five female death row prisoners. There she meets convicted murderer Emilia Carr who, at 30 years of age, is the youngest female prisoner on Death Row in America. The lady doing the interviews seems some what delusional in her thinking. She doesn't agree with the amount of time the one kid was facing. Some of these juveniles are out there robbing and killing and doing crimes worst than some of the adult offenders because they figure that they can't be tried as an adult. She is looking at them like they are innocent kids especially when she asked the guy if he felt sorry for them and look at the face of the cute kid (something similar to that). The guy said "no". They are in a place to try to give them some kind of structure and discipline and not to treat them like you are their parents. I think the journalist should have been someone who is not too naive. Her best bet would be to stay in Ireland because she would not survive mentally somewhere else. She seems like she lives in an enclosed environment where crime does not exist.

I live in Canada and the justice system is not always right. Example is David Milgaard, he did 23 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. In some ways I am glad we do not have the death penalty here. That being said, if someone did commit a serious crime that deserves the death penalty, they better be 100% sure that they were the ones who did it. I do not know nor do I want to know how many innocent people have been put to death for something they did not do. And if they are 100% sure, then the death penalty should be used. Look at Chis Watts who killed his wife, 2 young daughters and the unborn baby boy. In my opinion he is one that does deserve the death sentence. And the more pain inflicted the better.

What's the point to make them eat with one hand? They said that the constant yelling, screaming, belittling and berating is to tear and break them down to turn around and build them up I see what they do to break them down so I hope they show what they do to build them back up. Some cadets have died during physical training and some have died after physical training my question is why would they ever let things get that far with the life of a new cadet

To me, it seem that this Irish Williams woman reporter is extremely unprofessional. Like you are a journalist that is supposed to be unbiased and give us the story. You ask question like "What is it like for you knowing you are going to be killed" with that goofy smile. Like how about "What has gone through your mind now that you have been sentenced to death"? Her questions continued with brow lifting questions of "WTF did she just ask"? Then the entire interview had that peculiar grin smiling after asking serious questions. Like stop trying to look pretty and just cover the story. Nothing about the case or what she was saying was joking or smiling material. Next, I have to read the story on this Emilia Carr girl. It's hard to find information on what specifically happened. All they have is she tried to break the neck with the husband who didn't get the death sentence, and eventually strangled her with a trash back? Is this correct? My question is, there are TONS of murders across the USA with serial individuals, or just everyday criminals. I never understood why some get the death penalty while others walk free after serving 15yrs on good behavior. I guess all judges are not the same and have different personalities. You'd figure there would be a more defined bar for when you give the death penalty or not.

"Guns should be illegal.".....This woman is very naive. There are over 300 million guns in the US. If guns were illegal, only law enforcement and the criminals would have them.

She was fine hanging out with felons who mightve committed violent gun crimes, but she freaks out when presented with a woman who is ready to defend herself. Then you compare that gun rights lady to a mass shooter, not the felons. Good one!

46:41 I think it was Ironic when she said, while pointing back towards the Death Row cells "... That is Not Okay...No One Has The Right To Do That To Anybody..." Because who exactly was it that gave her the right to do what she did...? (murdering and suffocating her boyfriend's wife) Because if we wanna label treatments of other human beings as Okay and Not Okay. Right and Wrong. I believe what She herself and her boyfriend did to his wife was Wrong and absolutely and unequivocally Not Okay. And the fact that she is upset about being removed from the public and her loved ones and is being made to live in a box essentially with very little human contact is pretty acceptable and even maybe expected because when you murder someone you show that you are Absolutely NOT a person who should be out amount other human beings just trying to exists and live out their lives safely because you've proven you have the capability to take someone else's life. I'm not for the death penalty, I believe life in prison is a better punishment because I think it's hypocritical to murder a murderer but I can't control that aspect of our justice system any more than any body else can I'm just pointing out the irony in her words and beliefs.

WOW 10 years for murder in Ireland. I guess the murder victims life, their family or even there right to exist . Is not worthy of any respect. Dehumanized the victim so they don't matter to the world. Only the murderer deserves repect. Seems backwards to me.

All I can say is people who do get guns need to keep locked up so children don't get their hands on them. If you own it you better know how to use it and be mentally prepared to use it . If you can't do that then get rid of it.

I would love to see the young man in for strong arm robbery in the military. I think if he could grow up he would have a great long military career if he chose. The guy who has been in 4 times makes me wonder if this is the first and only place he has ever received discipline; and as hard as it is he likes feeling like someone cares and is invested, in a way, in him. He just needs to grow and realize he is the only one that needs to love, believe in and invest in himself. Once he can do that he can grow and learn to care for others and maybe even one day find real love and acceptance. Edit: I meant to add that ALL these young men can go far if they learn to love and invest in them first and realize they are worth it!

It still astounds me, England outlawed guns in 1996 and the murders increased, they just use different means, England also enjoys over 10,000 people arrested each year for GUN crimes, yes the Gun Homicide rate is low, but the overall homicide rate has increased.

This still blows my mind. Yes murder is murder but some murders dont just kill they torture victims, rape them then let them die slowly in pain. These types of killers get 25 to life but get parole. WTH is the justice in the justice system.

So criminals should get paid to tell their story? How about looking at as an educational tool to show people what happens if you commit a crime. In saying that you don't even acknowledge the part about the people turning their lives around

@@naomidoss1837 at least pay them the daily rate of an extra - they are being exploited as these shows sell advertising being broadcast in prime time and then monetized forever on youtube.
