Saying "hypergamy is natural" is essentially true, but it's still BS to say it and just leave it hang there as if it justified something. Saying that hypergamy is natural as a justification for hurting someone else or lying as if the observation justified the behavior deprives women of moral agency, of their humanity. It renders them animals. When we claim hypergamy is natural, well, so is the human propensity to predation, but if you prey upon other human beings you are behaving immorally, criminally, anti-socially, and most importantly: self-destructively. Saying that the underlying drive is "natural" does not excuse acting on that drive in ways that are destructive. Our drives are natural; how we respond to our drives is what distinguishes what kind of human being we are.

@dragorn32123 жыл бұрын
@@explosivetwist That's because we live in societies now which are unnatural in terms of evolution. In older societies, even and average run of the mill man would be of significant value to women. Whereas in westernized nations the governments have taken over men's major roles and men are not useful to women accept for extremely selective looks (6'3 chad) or significant boost in comfort of living (for example a waitress dating a doctor). The only guys that are below average i see with women are families from third world countries where all men are valued by women because they offer strength, protection, and higher status in society.

Anyway, moving forward, she got mad at me about a week ago, told me to leave, as in breaking up, so, I started packing my things to leave, without any discussion. She kept closing the bedroom door and wanted to talk to me, preventing me from putting my stuff in my Jeep. After about two hours of this, she finally confessed that she doesn't like the fact that my business is the most important thing to me and wanted me to make "her" the most important thing in my life. I neither agreed nor disagreed and only said that I understood what she was saying. She told me she wanted me to stay because she feels safe with me. Reluctantly, I stayed. With respect, I'd like to get your husband's opinion on this issue. Just as I do not trust a skinny chef, I am skeptical of an unmarried relationship counselor. Show me you can ride a horse before you start giving me tips on how to handle one. Yes, men stop pursuing after a while. This is normal. There is no reason a guy should have to maintain the level of pursuit shown in early dating 10-20 years into a relationship. Women have sold themselves an unrealistic romantic fantasy. If you have to keep buying her trinkets & deluging her with compliments, she is being unrealistic. Yes, women need more stimulation. Like an infant, you have to keep jangling the keys in front of her eyes to keep her attention. Simply not worth it. While the video says we should accept a woman's nature and keep providing dopamine hits for her validation addiction, there is never any commentary that women should also accept a man's nature and realize it isn't going to stay at the hot & heavy beginner level forever. Sort of like how we assume a woman cheats because a man has failed to provide something. A man who cheats is told he is selfish & immature, a pig. A woman who cheats should be told she is selfish and immature, a sow. Women who are 30+ or even 40+ or 50+ still expect to be chased just as much as a young hottie. See above section regarding unrealistic fantasies.

Actually, a few young women have figured out that cutting a good deal early is the best thing they can do. By 30, most women have lost 90% of their eggs. The last point you made was about the value people bring into each others lives- Well what kind of value does a 30+ woman who can't cook, has no knowledge of raising children, 0 femininity, and has been around the "carousel" more than a few times, what does bring to the table for the proverbial "good man" ? Close to nothing, and you essentially admit that earlier in the video when you say 20-something's don't want to settle down because they have options. They have options, because they are 20-something. The moment they lose those "options" they start to seek out a "good man." I'm 68 and so glad I'm not 28 anymore and should be looking for a relationship. The image I get from many videos is that the capitalist free market system has also entered into relationship land. Looking at people in terms of high values, financially, socially, and appearance makes people into products that you trade in like you would a car, washing machine, or refrigerator when it no longer performs as well or when there is a newer, better model.
@Mr._Anderpson3 жыл бұрын
Yes, be glad. The dating market is a dumpster fire these days. Social media enhances this problem. Everyone markets themselves as brands to be purchased. I'm 47, and was with one person for 20+ years. Sticking my toe in the modern dating scene made me back away in horror & embrace being a modern-day monk. It used to be you had to compete with the guys in your neighborhood. Now you have to compete on a much wider scale, which doesn't favor the average man or woman. Women are pricing themselves out of the market, which is unfortunate both for them & for society. It used to be average guys gets average girl. Now, even the average girls want to pick guys from the top shelf. Not sure it is a capitalism issue, though. If so, bring back dowries. That way a guy can invest that money to pay her off when she cashes out down the line.
@unhappydutch3 жыл бұрын
@@Mr._Anderpson Social media and dating apps ensure that there is an almost inexhaustible choice of partners and this is partly why people wonder if they have made the right choice for a partner and there may be a better choice somewhere. There's a Ted Talk about and an article "the tyranny of choice" Psychologist Barry Schwartz takes aim at a central tenet of western societies: freedom of choice. In Schwartz's estimation, choice has made us not freer but more paralyzed, not happier but more dissatisfied. What strikes me is that Friedman's economic thinking, "that growth is best and standing still leads to decay" is so reflected in the personal and dating world. People should always strive to become more, better, more handsome, more evolved. It creates a world in which people are never good enough and everyone wants to be in 1st place and then they are unhappy if they don't succeed. Infinite growth suffers so far in the history of mankind, to the end of civilizations, countries and people.

It sounds like heavy burden. So much effort and stress in order to find a girl, make impression and finally get her... And it's never over. I disagree that this is what it always takes. My parents are example. Yes, it's a constant effort, but when they love eachother they care about eachother and never consider moving somewhere else. Even if they are unhappy they would rather die. It is still an effort, but it's not that hard because they LOVE eachother. That's the real stimulation. And it's a powerful one. When there is trouble (like when someone in my family died or when my father lost his job) they stick together. It's a rare thing. And that's the promise people make when they get married. The problems is that nowadays people don't know what love actually is and they don't commit fully. There is always an escape route. Btw I want to say that your channel is one of the bests if not THE best out there. The other KZbinrs are usually angry men seeking revenge or dishonest women afraid to admit their nature. You spoke my own thoughts and feelings quite well. Also, it's important to keep in mind that the millions (possibly billion+) of people in rewarding long-term relationships aren't on the internet complaining about their plight. We mostly see just the bad examples. It's curious how virtually all communication about relationships are approached in terms of the "problem identification" instead of how to actually DEVELOP successful unions. One might possibly argue that it takes that identification. Whereas, the vast majority of people that are successful in ANYTHING as a lifestyle always focus on a foundation of what is successful by learning from other success. It's so much more than "10 tips and tricks to getting the guy/girl" or pop culture "Alpha/Beta" terminology(based on wolf pack structure proven to be utter nonsense -in fact, the very scientist that coined the labels regrets it completely). Many animals demonstrate far more integrity and actual LOVE than most humans. That's sad. It is simply far easier to get a divorce nowadays, for virtually any reason, than it was 30 years ago. That's a cultural result. Marriage isn't actually valued by the majority in the United States anymore beyond a means to legally bind assets. Vows are vastly meaningless . That holds demonstrably true despite all of the rhetoric and sentimentality. It's similar in MINDSET to modern Western economic practices. Over my lifetime it certainly seems our value of true relationship has degraded more towards that of cheap convenience in many ways - to be disposed of the moment we sense it might need some repair. We are taught that relationships are some form of mechanical and transactional interaction to be learned with methods. Love is NOT a method. Love is NOT transactional. Love knows NOTHING as a sacrifice. Love is NOT a warm fuzzy feeling all the time. Ask any good parent. Most of us literally see one another as nothing but ideas and images and are only really reacting to our own imaginations, calling it the "other". There's not a sense of deeper connection for so many of us that wins over even the most petty of issues. There is less and less love resulting in a growing cancer of despair and loneliness in many of our cultures. Over the years I have learned to see relationship isn't some preconceived set of conditions. I always started new ones from a foundation of seeking security in some form through the other's perceived traits and temporary life situation. Turns out the types of security I sought were a means to compensate for my own insecurities. Essentially, my relationship qualities were defined in large part by insecurities. Its also they same situation for the other person involved. That dynamic constantly playing out. Nowadays, my relationships with everyone are much more fruitful and satisfying. I worked diligently in myself to approach them without so many intentions of specific outcomes and finally began to FEEL that security and sense of love I always chased after. At work. Friendships. Family. That secure, loving feeling is naturally a BYPRODUCT of any healthy relationship - produced but can't actually be acquired through effort because the EFFORT to find it IS some form of insecurity itself.

You've reminded me that my wife of 25 years, while certainly not perfect nor immune to her "bee nature", was true, usually fair, and the biggest asset in my life -- besides myself. They're out there, gents, it's true...but man are they rare. I now wonder whether it's even possible to find another good one in my age group, considering all we both will have been through; Neither of us will be college kids like when my wife and I met. Even if women do care, they will force themselves to stop if it's good for themselves in some way. Its fine. Men should do that too! Leave her! Women don't say that they're willing to stop loving him/would leave for her own interests, because they need men to care about them even when its not in his best interest! If HIS survival or emotional/physical safety is threatened, she wants him to stay anyways. And guys do?! Men need to leave, more often. Men should do what's best for themselves and find a woman who's taking care of herself fully, who doesn't need you and you shouldn't need her. Women don't want to have to do anything to be valuable. Men copy this behavior from women and women hate it. Men don't have to ask for what they want anymore than women do. Just prepare for a life alone and then date freely. If she wants to leave, close the door. If she has a wandering eye, she'll always have a wandering eye. If she doesn't want to be a benefit to your life, there's no reason to be a benefit to her. I watched until 9:38 and lost my patience because of 2 reasons: 1. "I have a good argument/example but I'll reveal it later hihi" No, if you have an argument say it right away, make your point. It feels like you are manipulating. 2. The constant blue pill BS of blaming the men for setting too high expectations in the start and not following through later on. This is ridiculous because we all know in today's world most women won't take a second to look at a guy if he's not up to certain high standards. Either his social status, or money, or looks or power or all together(depends what a specific woman likes most). So we are not suppose to set high expectations right? it should be like: "Hey, I'm an average looking modest guy and I offer you a modest life, nothing special and exciting about me, come be my girl." This could hypothetically work in some perfect world where all men would make a consensus to behave like that, but in our world full of competition no way, guy presenting himself as modest will just be ignored by most girls. Just take dating apps for example, guys who are average and bellow average get 0 interest from women.

as to a man's financial security, most women never look at a man who has no debt. no debt usually means an older truck, a medium home, paying cash on a date, and so on. women usually only look at guys with fancy cars, homes, and cloths. these guys typically have to pay for dinner with a credit card. How stable is that?

Men and women are not made for long term romantic relationships. The "work" to keep her stimulated is just a proof of that. Nature , through evolution, made men and women fall in love, and attract each other just enough time so that they can procreate - that's about the proverbial 3 years that the love lasts. After that, when the high goes, gooooodluck keeping a woman entertained and also provide for a family.
@dragorn32123 жыл бұрын
Agreed, although evolutionarily it could be beneficial to have many kids with the same partner so you'd think more women would sustain attraction but i guess not.

It's amazing that "high value" women claim they want a man who is "loyal" to them and only them. But from what I have seen and heard in a lot of videos as far as modern dating goes, these types of women are into the CHADs and TYRONEs and ignore the "nice guys" who are always said to "finish last" (which I don't necessarily believe, tbh)and if they land those types of guys and actually date them, they try to change these "bad boys" into the type of guy they actually take to meet the parents, but when he doesn't change after numerous failed attempts on the woman's part, then these "high value" women put all men in the "all men are pigs" category and start asking "Where are all the good men?" The answer: They were the "nice guys" you passed up to be with the CHADs and TYRONEs and the ones who are always said to "finish last". The "nice guys" may finish last when it comes to modern dating, but they seem to be on the list when these "high value" women claim they want to settle down, but even the "nice guys" are saying to them, "Sorry. Not interested."

6: 35. If men have the burden of performance, and must continue bringing to the table what he did originally. If not making improvements. Then women must do their part too. That means...1. Not turning into a b!tch. 2. Not gaining weight. 3. Not withholding sex. Men have their jobs to do. But women also have theirs. Yeah, I got that years ago. It's one of the reasons I stopped dating. There is no getting over it. No one likes being used! If she 'slides backwards', I'm expected to stick with her. If I slide, she's on the next thing smoking. A lot of men are tired of the headache. Believe it or not, men have feelings too, in some cases, more intense than women. We are raised not to show them. She got me up on stage and have me sing a song with her. I love it so now I sing karaoke and I’m learning to play the guitar and I really enjoy music. Whole new adventure for me. I’m not doing it for her. I’m doing it for me. The topic definitely needs to be verbalize for a better understanding of what men or anybody really, if they are trying to establish and maintaingreat relationships, the effort required to be successful, the effort to maintain , continue and temper emotions if they lack resources to cope with what they created and what they are involved in providing a great community service which society hasnt properly educated, process or resolve questions that exist today in relatioship building. Wow - after watching this one I'm really confused. Part of Me wants to say "what ever happened to finding Someone You're interested in, striking up a conversation, enjoying each others company, having some attraction to each other and then seeing if you both 'work' Together?" I think about this thing right now with Pete Davison and everyone wondering 'what's the deal with him?' and the response - He's very professional and has a great personality. I'm at the point in My Life where looks are really not so much at the top of the list but more interested in connection and communicating well. I used to think I was a pretty good 'catch' for Someone who wanted a nice guy who's going to lead and support at the same time, but now I'm wondering if it's even worth it. Maybe I'm too old-fashioned and want the Girl next door who couldn't care less about money and popularity and social media influence. Gonna watch some more but there's GOT to be Someone out there that DOES care (talking about both ways) - otherwise, what's the point of having a relationship in the first place? Sounds like nice Guys like Me are screwed but I can Hope - right? Plugging away and Hoping for the Best...

I think the biggest problem is we as humans think we are supposed to be together forever. Name just one thing in existence that lasts forever. I think we meet people to learn from them and we are vibrating the same. So on a souls journey once you learn what you can learn from each other, yes time to move on.

Came here from another channel putting you on blast. I don’t love the packaging, and some of the messages seem unnecessarily gendered, _but_ .. I do think you make some good points that everyone should listen to. Don’t oversell yourself, meet the expectations you set (as best you can - we all have our bad days and phases), and keep dating after marriage! You never can win or buy a person. Love can fade. A loving person will stick thru the hard times - that goes both ways! But if you’re struggling and take your partner for granted too long and they don’t empathize, they may walk. Every long lasting relationship requires ongoing communication and compromise. Anyone can benefit from this advice. If you’ve stopped actively showing love, they will leave you. Love your partner, they should love you back. If you actively love them and they don’t return it and you’re stickin’, stop. If you love and it’s not returned, you deserve better, period. (I’m also not even remotely talking about money. I know gifts are a love language but no.)
