Girl messaged me 10min after our meet time to say she was going to be late and she’ll be on the way soon. I cancelled the date, instantly disqualified her. Hopefully that will teach her to respect future guys time

I am almost 41 now and still a virgin technically speaking, despite having had multiple opportunities over the years with the few relationships I've had and then one off flings and "one night stands" which I really regret even going that far because it was wrong. Done sexual stuff but NEVER had full intercourse. I wanted to save myself for marriage and do what's right before God but I guess the wife and the marriage never happened. I hope it's not too late but it's certainly getting to a point where I'm worried whether anything will change. I still believe sex is for marriage and that's something I can't compromise over now, especially after having waited all this time. That said I do feel a sense of regret because I feel I have missed out on this crucial human experience which is definitely quite sad and that I have wondered over the years whether my general lack of enthusiasm and apathy in life is due to this. I don't know it's hard to say. Say I finally had intercourse tomorrow with a woman I cared about, I don't think my life will suddenly change but perhaps I will feel a sense of relief. Had this stand caused more harm than good in my case?
