In 1965 the chemical company DuPont was looking for its next big innovations, the kind of products that would change people's lives. It assigned a research chemist named Stephanie Kwolek to go find one.

Against the background of the current awarded Nobel Prize, she should be an absolute number 1 at the list. I don't care how genius or how simple her discoveries are from the chemical point of view. What matters is her footprint on making this planet a better place.

I discovered that I could use Kevlar as an motor shaft pressure fittting insert for my drone motor that manufactuerers don't make bolting shafts for the motor. It works wonders. And I am so surprised just now that Kevlar was invented by a woman.

Thank you, SANPH, for stuffing a sock in DMrk. This was about Stephanie, not just Kevlar.

Kevlar is a NONTOXIC fiber composite. You are talking about inhaling the fiber dust. Have you ever think that about 80% of all kinds of dust are potentially dangerous for the human body? You have no specific toxicity connected to kevlar. Inhaling the kevlar dust is just as dangerous as thousands of thousands of other materials and particles in the form of dust. In fact, on a regular basis, people are exposed to only a few kinds of dust (dust compositions) that don't require wearing some kind of protection against permeation of the smallest parts (here sub-fibers) into the body. If I wouldn't know if cutting Kevlar is safe or not I would wear protection myself.

She did most of the work. And it is completely understandable why she would not “GIVE” credit to others. She clearly did.
