Women in Engineering - Masooma Ijaz

Masooma Ijaz is a Structural Engineer at VorTech Water Solutions. She is responsibility for overseeing the development of VorTech’s structural design standards and methodologies and implementation to live products such as Vortex Powered Aeration-Standard (VPA-S). She is proficient in the use of numerical modelling tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) to assess structural performance of products over a long design life in a challenging wastewater environment.
Masooma holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Masters of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Galway, with a focus in computational modelling, fluid dynamics and material mechanics.
