The trick in darker that most ppl don't realize is that they hold hands to transfer weight to the other person. So you are literally hanging on the person's hand ur holding and that makes you 29 to 50% lighter so you can jump around and easily squat and get up with the support

Don't be discouraged to try. Dabke has lots of different versions and the ones you see in the video are usually done by the people at the tip of the line, for they are the more experienced. The people in the middle of the line usually dance a much more calmed version without the jumping. You can watch videos about it to understand what I mean.

The Lebanese version will make you burn lots of calories but I’d prefer you do the Iraqi then do other countries dabke like from east to hard and you will get the hang of it

I am algerian. The Dabke is not in our culture.... Our men do a slower and more "hidden" kind of belly dance and spread their arms to dance. And every town has another dance culture in Algeria too. Jusy search "algerian dance"
