Tracks like this one and many others produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland that have recently been unearthed from the vaults made me think that maybe, just maybe, Motown had plans for an album by Kim Weston. HDH certainly recorded a lot with her -far more than I ever realized; but much of it was kept on the shelves of Motown's tape library. This is a cover of the classic song by Martha & The Vandellas and appeared as the B-side of Kim's 1966 release, "Helpless," her final Motown solo release before she left the company with then-husband William Stevenson for MGM Records in LA.

I've heard more on Kim Weston here than elsewhere. What did she do at MGM?

Berry Gordy had suggested H-D-H work with Kim. This resulted in two songs making the charts. Kim left Motown at a time just before It Takes Two would be rising on the chart. In her own words, bad timing to have left. Most likely at this time Motown was considering to have her do a solo album since her status in the lineup was rising.
