Really enjoyed this! Especially appreciate the focus on women (trail) runners - there aren't too many YT channels that are women based running. We need more like yours!!! I'm a fairly new runner, 64 yrs old, and have my first Ultra coming up this year - so excited! And inspired by your channel!

Heck yeah!!! That’s so exciting. Best of luck out there. You’re going to have so much fun.

Great video! Just for the record, women have taken top ten overall at Western States 24 times. There were multiple years that more than one woman was in the top ten overall. Ann Trason did the feat 13 times herself. Incredible!

I just came across that the other day. I've got to get up on my history!!! I never want to lose sight of the legends and what they accomplished. Thank you for schooling me!!!

Great video, and thanks for making it. My only comment is that the exploits of the likes of Courtney Dauwalter, Lucy Batholomew and others are inspiring to men as well. I ran my first 100 miler earlier this year and "Western Time", Billy Yang's beautiful film about Sally McCrae's amazing race in 2014, was my inspiration both in training and on race day. We are all ultra runners - please don't make this an us and them!

One of the greatest things about this sport is the camaraderie, inspiration and competition between every gender! I love that ultrarunning breaks down barriers when it comes to that. You put it very nicely, "we are all ultra runners"!

I found your channel through Goku Runner and have been watching your old videos during my free time. Your channel is SO great. I know this video is a little different from your training videos, but I love it. I love hearing these women's stories AND seeing more women as storytellers/filmmakers, etc. Also, you and your mom are both so fartleking cool.

Welcome to my channel! Happy to have you here. What kind of running are you into? Trail, road, ultra, etc.?

@@VIVSVIBE Ironically it was mainly trail running books (ultramarathon man, born to run, ect) that inspired me the most but 99% of my running has been on roads. Once I heal from the injury im going to go try some trails. How about yourself?

@@TirnanHealy How funny! I love trail running the most but don't discriminate against roads. I just like to run far!
