You can paint it however you want to paint it. It’s beyond sportsmanship it’s called narcissism there’s other ways that you get get known yeah now she’s going to be known as the woman who cheats the woman who gets dropped by everybody and all that hard work watch it go down yeah she’s famous now for the wrong reasons! Did they seriously think that they could diminish the accomplishments of great ultra runners by altering a Wikipedia page? That is just over the top narcissistic and…….stupid!

I'm amateur ultrarunner (trails), but I do follow the big races, and I'd never heard of her. Went to UltraSingup to learn more, and that page for her is down, too :/ But in any event, there are so many amazing women running and winning trail and mountain races, and FKTs, these days, there's no need to spend too much time on this. She's finished, and more positive women will take her place. Like, say, Tara Dower with her recent Appalachian Trail supported FKT.

She’s a legit ultra runner on roads. Shes fast but she’s very unprofessional and petty.
@sweetiemcgeeАй бұрын
you'll know who she is when you see her run. she's got the most distinctive running stride you'll ever see in a pro runner.
@travisfinucaneАй бұрын
@@KTravRuNEr Yeah she has the record in 48hr run, I believe, so it's not like she's a nobody. I think there's more to this than pettiness, tbh. She's got a slight personality disorder, and her husband seems strangely controlling.

This is so embarrassing for her and her husband. I get the shivers just thinking about indulging in this kind of behavior.

Notice her accomplishments are Not in "standard races" ?? but are in chasing records where cheating is easy to cover up??
@Ciaran-xb5qv2 ай бұрын
In what way is Comrades marathon for example not a ‘standard race’? There’s no need to lie about her achievements.
@johncollins25572 ай бұрын
It's exactly the opposite. Her sport is road and track Ultra Running. This is Ultra running. The new activity of Trail Ultra running is not a mainstream part of international athletics- it's a profit driven outdoor activity pursuit. Her Ultra running IS Ultra running.

Thank you for the info. I was not aware that she made false accusations to media. That's even darker.

I'm so glad she said "There's a reason you shouldn't use Wikipedia as a source." LOL Don't trust everything you read online. Fact check.

Sounds like she has a lot of personal growth to engage in. Unfortunately when you’re in the public eye and desperately seek that attention, you will sometimes get it and not always in a favorable manner. Paging Lance Armstrong 😅

First time catching ya'll, first thank you for VERY professional research/coverage!!! And the argument they are reacting to cyber-bullying, the Canadian and WR challenges, make HER the actual bully (cyber and real-world)... very sad, if I had a record, and in sports when I have been beaten, yes, it stinks, then I go congratulate the person/people who won, and ask myself "okay, how am I going to improve/win this back/next time"... very sad story, I'd seen a headline or two but only watched this for actually hearing details, so sad. I'm very average, but in my youth was much more capable/competitive, and never would have imagined trying to disparage someone who out-accomplished me (it was rare then, and just spurred me on to try harder). Subscribing, enjoyed this, wish all internet reporting was so well done!

Can we please stop the women get payed less in sport argument? Its quite logical that a team of men who play football for 50.000 people get payed more than women who play for a few thousant at best. Thats how economy works. This logic applies to most sports. Surely there can be specific examples that do favour men, but stop pretend like this is solely gender based. In the end its about who generates the most revenue.
@marathonhandbook2 ай бұрын
I think you’ve misunderstood what we’ve said here: gender has nothing to do with how much (or little) she was being paid to be a lululemon ambassador. What we said was that perhaps she was, in part, motivated to behave in a certain manner because her contract with Lulu could have stipulated that she break records, and that is how she earned actual dollars (and not just free product, which is often how lulu compensates its “ambassadors”). This line of thinking has nothing to do with what you’re getting all worked up with here. Man or woman, it’s the same point we’re trying to make: when you only pay an athlete for breaking records or winning, they’ll becoming desperately focused on those achievements and nothing more.

Camille was diagnosed with autism months PRIOR to the controversy of the past few days. That timeline matters and Michael Doyle questioning that diagnosis and issues relating to her health is a bad look. Intentionally or unintentionally he implies Camille is possibly using this diagnosis to deflect. Very unfair given the timeline. Should not have gone there at all, cynical speculation.
@TahoeTrailRunner232 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t excuse her actions due to her diagnosis.. and regardless, how do you explain her husband not only enabling her but taking part as well then?
@Ciaran-xb5qv2 ай бұрын
I didn’t excuse or comment on her actions at all. I simply said that the diagnosis predates this controversy so it’s sinister to suggest she’s playing that card out of nowhere now.
@bev97082 ай бұрын
Exactly, and citing autism as a reason for this behaviour has not come from her at all, but rather from others in the community speculating on that!! I saw a very detailed comment from a runner who suffers himself from autism and explains just how very very possible it is that her autism could very well lead to such behaviour ... NOT to condone but to explain and raise a little awareness!!
