What about father taking care of children too so that wife can do Ithikaf? Or take turns? My wife loves to go to Jamia because we live as a minority Muslims in a non-Muslim country. I like to see my wife happy. She is happy after community in Jamia and not ALONE at home often. I think it mercy to my wife. My father did so to my mother too who was a lady doctor.

Itikaf إعتكاف means you spend the last ten days of Ramadan in the Masjid, unless you need to do quick home visit for a shower for example
