During the baton exchange, I see some of the runners standing completely still causing the approaching runner to crash into them? Do they not practice the baton exchange? SMH.

Although, I’m not an athlete my understanding of baton passing was you should never have to look back . You’re to keep your eye out for your teammate and run and extend the palm back for baton. I know most times it’s not done that way. If you come in 1st then ehh a wins a win 🤗🤷🏾♀️

My coach made us run one each year regardless of your distance😵 I ran 200 (rarely a 300) and under and horizontal jumps. We had to do under 70s for girls and that sucker killed me every time. Fastest I ever did was a 66s

As an xc runner, I'm trying to find events for track season. I think you could do a 400 just do a lot of stretching and preparing for the race. I think you would do amazing and if you ever do a 400 respond to this on how you did please and Good luck!

You can tell the announcers seen it cause if you listen to the lady, at the moment the lady from USC got hit, she says, “OMG!!!!” That wasn’t just from the baton drop. They just didn’t want to shift the focus from the race lol.

Winning the team title is based on points. The two teams were clearly ahead of the others, so others winning would not score enough points for the title. Neither of the leading teams needed to win the event. However, they were close enough to each other that one could win or lose the title. It makes perfect sense if you understand the scoring of the sport.

They're not better than every country gathering the best pros. They're better than every country gathering mediocre pros who aren't in top form yet because it's early in the season. At the world championships last month the US team won in in 3:18 (six and half seconds faster than these amateurs) The fourth place team from Great Britain didn't even get a medal for their 3:23 time.
