Although, I’m not an athlete my understanding of baton passing was you should never have to look back . You’re to keep your eye out for your teammate and run and extend the palm back for baton. I know most times it’s not done that way. If you come in 1st then ehh a wins a win 🤗🤷🏾‍♀️
@ragreenburg
@ragreenburg 4 жыл бұрын
@@Sugastack That's usually only true for a 4x1. Most 4x4's have the athletes looking back to get the baton.

Winning the team title is based on points. The two teams were clearly ahead of the others, so others winning would not score enough points for the title. Neither of the leading teams needed to win the event. However, they were close enough to each other that one could win or lose the title. It makes perfect sense if you understand the scoring of the sport.

When was someone being intentionally hit with a baton, I saw one racer get caught up in the feet/kick of another racer, and her arms naturally flailed about to maintain balance.

Notice how the white announcers ignored Texas A&M and tried to focus on some blonde hair white girl? LOL...for what? She was behind and stayed behind. They should have been talking about the contenders. A&M took their respect though....in the end...haha.

She was making a move, dusting the back of the pack. These announcers KNOW these athletes. She's obviously one of the better ones. When the announcers DROOL over Sha'Carri, I don't think you're gonna be writing all this stupid shit. IT'S ONLY SPORTS! LEAVES POLITICS OUT OF IT!

@@lashaunbeazer9264 EXACTLY! They're gonna talk about ANYONE going from 6th to 3rd. And they have 2 announcers and they worked great as a team, with him continuing to give commentary on the leader(s) even while his partner described Chadwick's move.

Context: This final race was a showdown for the NCAA National Championship between Arkansas and USC who were tied to this point. A&M winning this race wasn’t really important in the big picture.

Collegiate athletes are getting too good. Imagine one college being better than every single country gathering they’re very best pros.

They're not better than every country gathering the best pros. They're better than every country gathering mediocre pros who aren't in top form yet because it's early in the season. At the world championships last month the US team won in in 3:18 (six and half seconds faster than these amateurs) The fourth place team from Great Britain didn't even get a medal for their 3:23 time.
