Saiful Radzi well I was trying to urge my recruiters to let me in the marine corps and asked what they could do for me in my case but they said they had to disqualify me. If they lower the standards I hope it is in every branch of the military evenly and not just the army doing it like it is known for. Current DoD policy precludes anyone from enlisting who is taking psychotropic medications, e.g. for anxiety, depression, AHDH or any other mental health issues. To enlist the person has to be off those medications for 12 months, can be reduced to maybe 4-6 months but they won't accept someone actively taking those types of meds. This has been discussed back in 1994, the last time they had hearings on a draft, Selective Service, which was shortly after The Americans with Disability Act (ADA) took effect and they felt that ADA, which covers these types of issues, essentially makes a draft a "dead" issue. That was nearly 30 years ago, which was 20 years after the draft ended.

As a marine 0331 machine gunner (retired) I don't wanna hear women who are in the air force talk about what happens in the infantry. Marine corps studied this topic. Units with women are slower and less effective then all male infantry units. Accuracy for shooting went down and speed for hiking went down as well. The men were dragging the women along for the combat senarios

There is a difference between joining the military when not in an active war vs getting drafted into an active war. Get drafted -> boot camp -> front lines -> probably die or wish you had within weeks. Once the draft is called, the war has gone beyond the point of winning, everyone loses at this point and if you come out alive you still lose when you get back home.

Nobody should have to sign up for the draft for the military. If people want to sign up for the military they can, but if we really needed to form militias to actually defend our country we can without a draft or even a registry. The military is structured like a private corporation and it has it's own institutions and really operates outside of the pervue of our congress so it's not fair to require people to be a part of what they see as unconstitutional, terrorism, illegal, immoral, etc. The military aren't defending our country. They are defending corporations expansion into the foreign countries they occupy. We are not supposed to have a standing military that engages in wars indiscriminately for corporate greed. If people really don't understand what the military does and they think it's really somehow defending our country because it's defending corporate interests and they want to sign up, they unfortunately have the right as long as we have this scourge in our midst. However, they don't defend us and we don't owe them anything and we can defend and serve in other capacities if we choose, but we don't owe anyone anything. We don't owe them our time, our lives or our children.
